NEW YORK, December 17, 2013 - "Chappelle's Show" co-creator Neal Brennan is back on Comedy Central in the world premiere of "Neal Brennan: Women and Black Dudes," debuting on Saturday, January 18 at Midnight ET/PT.
In his first one-hour stand-up special, the Emmy(R)-nominated writer, director, producer, and comedian, who also directed the special, delivers bold and fearless material that dives deep into issues of race and gender. In front of a live audience at the Civic Theater in New Orleans, Brennan covers everything from the two adjectives women always seem to use to describe themselves to the exciting day his black friends told him he could use the N-word.
On January 21 the extended and uncensored edition of "Neal Brennan: Women and Black Dudes," featuring material not seen in the premiere, will be available for $5 on CC: Stand-Up Direct and in SD and HD on iTunes, Xbox Video, Sony Entertainment Network, Amazon Instant Video, Vudu, and Vdio. The extended and uncensored album will be available on all digital platforms. The album and CC Stand-Up Direct download also include Brennan's episode of Comedy Central's "The Half Hour."
Leading up to the on-air premiere, the Comedy Central Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special, as well as a clip featuring an animated twist by Titmouse. Brennan also will engage with Comedy Central fans via a CC Tumblr "Ask a Professional Comedian" live event. Fans can follow Brennan on Twitter at @nealbrennan and tweet using the hashtag #WABD to join the social chatter around the special.
Brennan is a three-time Emmy(R) nominated writer, director, producer, and stand-up comedian who recently was featured on Comedy Central's "The Half Hour." This year he directed episodes of FOX's "The Mindy Project" and "New Girl," and Comedy Central's "Inside Amy Schumer." Brennan collaborated with "Saturday Night Live's" Seth Meyers on his White House Correspondents Dinner speech in 2011, and is a regular guest on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Conan," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Last Call with Carson Daly," and "Lopez Tonight."
Brennan co-created Comedy Central's legendary "Chappelle's Show," for which he received three Emmy nominations: one for directing, one for writing, and one for producing. Together, Brennan and Dave Chappelle wrote and produced virtually every sketch on the show themselves. In the second season, Brennan also served as director on many episodes, helming such classic sketches as "Charlie Murphy/Rick James," "The Racial Draft," "Charlie Murphy/Prince," and the "John Mayer Sketch." Also with Chappelle, Brennan co-wrote the stoner cult classic film "Half Baked."
In addition to stand-up, writing, directing, and producing, Brennan co-hosts the popular podcast The Champs with fellow comedian/author Moshe Kasher. The show is routinely in the top comedy podcasts on the iTunes charts and has been downloaded over 2.4 million times. Brennan also has a huge presence on social media with 230,000 followers on twitter, and was named "One of the Funniest People on Twitter" by Time Magazine and Rolling Stone.
"Neal Brennan: Women and Black Dudes," is executive produced by Brennan, Alex Murray, and John Irwin, and directed by Brennan. Anne Harris is the Executive for Comedy Central.
