BADLANDS (The CW, New!) - David Wilcox ("666 Park Avenue") has set up "a supernatural Western about a ruthless family cursed by vengeful ghosts" at the netlet. The project comes from Warner Bros. Television where Wilcox and his Idle Hands banner had a double-blind script deal. (THR.com)
ENTRAPMENT (ABC, New!) - David Wilcox ("666 Park Avenue") has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama about "a star prosecutor accused of murder and the journey she takes when she turns to her former adversary, a streetwise defense attorney, for help with her defense." Warner Bros. Television is behind the project, with Wilcox executive producing via his Idle Hands banner alongside Dawn Olmstead of Grady Girl Productions. (THR.com)
THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE (ABC Family, New!) - Daniel Loflin ("Supernatural") is spearheading a small screen take on Curtis Hanson's 1992 feature about "a young, attractive nanny who terrorizes a suburban family from the inside." Mike Weber and Radar Pictures' Ted Field are also serving as executive producers alongside Loflin. (THR.com)
HARVEST (A&E, New!) - Ian Sobel and Matt Morgan have sold a potential drama to the cable channel about "a mild-mannered cemetery caretaker who finds his small-town life in jeopardy when his estranged criminal father forces him into the body-trade business." Warner Horizon Television is behind the hour with Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman executive producing via their Jerry Bruckheimer Television banner, KristieAnne Reed as a co-executive producer and Sobel and Morgan serving as supervising producers. HOW I MET YOUR FATHER (CBS, New!) - Emily Spivey ("Up All Night") is reportedly spearheading a potential spin-off of "How I Met Your Mother" about "a new group of New York friends and chronicle a female member of the group's quest to meet her future husband." "Mother" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are on board to executive produce the half-hour, with the characters potentially being introduced in the show's upcoming finale. It's understood the gang's favorite hangout, MacLaren's Pub, may also be featured on the new show. 20th Century Fox Television will again produce. (Deadline.com)
THE NOISE (The CW, New!) - Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is developing a semi-autobiographical drama at the netlet about "the rise of a young artist in the 1990s who escapes a tumultuous home life and forms a wildly popular band with a unique sound." Miles Feld is on board to pen the project with Eric Tannenbaum and Kim Tannenbaum of the CBS Television Studios-based The Tannenbaum Company executive producing. Durst then will serve as a co-executive producer. (TVGuide.com)
PUBLIC MORALS (TNT, New!) - Ed Burns ("Mob City") is set to write, direct and star in a new drama at the cable channel "set in 1967 in New York City's Public Morals Division, where cops walk the line between morality and criminality as the temptations that comes from dealing with all kinds of vice can get the better of them." He'll play Terry Muldoon, "who knows the line between the good guys and bad guys is thin, and he is determined to raise his sons to be honest and hardworking as he deals with the dark underbelly of the vice world." Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank, Justin Falvey and Aaron Lubin are also on board to executive produce the project - which has received a pilot order - for Amblin Television and TNT Original Productions. STREET SOLDIER (FOX, New!) - Actor Peter Facinelli (The Twilight Saga), writer Larry Golin (Cross Bronx) and producer Michael De Luca (Captain Phillips) are developing an event series at the network inspired by Eddie MacKenzie's memoir "Street Soldier: My Life as an Enforcer for Whitey Bulger and the Boston Irish Mob." Facinelli is attached to star in the drama, which would chronicle "the life of boxer and drug dealer Eddie MacKenzie as an enforcer for Bulger and details how he was able to extricate himself from Whitey's gang without getting killed." Golin then will pen the script based on the aforementioned book by MacKenzie and Phyllis Karas with De Luca, Ted Mann and A7SLE Films' Rob DeFranco likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JASON ISAACS PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Jason Isaacs ("Awake") is attached to star in a potential drama at the Alphabet about "a former LAPD homicide detective whose disabling injury gives him a powerful new ability to solve difficult cases." Stephen Chin is penning the hour, which has a penalty attached, with Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper of the ABC Studios-based The Mark Gordon Company likewise executive producing. Isaacs will also receive a producing credit. (THR.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - "Hawaii Five-0" co-star Daniel Dae Kim has launched his own production banner 3AD as part of a two-year first-look deal with CBS Television Studios (Deadline.com); Missi Pyle and Kurt Fuller will both visit "The Crazy Ones" as "a straitlaced executive who is looking to hire the ad firm" and "the daughter of an old colleague of Simon's (Robin Williams)," respectively (EW.com); Paulo Costanzo is bound for "Criminal Minds" as "an old friend from Garcia's (Kirsten Vangsness) troubled past who she hasn't seen since she joined the BAU" (THR.com); and Carrie Fisher will turn up on FXX's "Legit" as "one of Hollywood's top comedy-development execs" (TVLine.com).
