THE "2013 MTV EMA" WILL BROADCAST IN THE U.S.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH FROM 7:00PM-10:00PM ET/PT
LONDON / NEW YORK - 16 October 2013 - The "2013 MTV EMA" is going to be the biggest music party on the planet! MTV today announced that The Killers have joined the line-up of performers set to rock the stage in Amsterdam. Tapped to lead the party all night is Redfoo of LMFAO, who will bring his wildly fun and entertaining energy to the "2013 MTV EMA" as the event's official MC, while Ariana Grande will provide a star's-eye view of all the backstage action via social media, tweeting and posting from behind the scenes.
The "2013 MTV EMA" will air Sunday, November 10th from 7:00PM to 10:00 PM ET/PT on MTV in the United States*. Cyrus, The Killers, Redfoo and Grande join previously announced performer Katy Perry and presenter Ron Burgundy of Anchorman 2 (Will Ferrell). Additionally, U.S. fans can vote for the first-time for the Best US Act who will ultimately vie for the title of Best Worldwide Act. Nominees include Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke.
Taking the EMA stage for the fourth time will be mega-band The Killers, who will be releasing Direct Hits the day after the EMAs on November 11th, a collection of singles that celebrates their 10th anniversary as a group and includes new songs "Shot At The Night" and "Just Another Girl." Additionally, The Killers will be headlining an MTV World Stage concert on Friday, November 8th at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. The World Stage event will be part of various MTV Music Week activities held in Amsterdam in the lead up to Sunday, November 10th, to get fans across the Netherlands and beyond pumped for the big show.
As the MC of the "2013 MTV EMA," party rockin' superstar Redfoo will be making sure the show is an out-of-this-world experience. Best known as part of the GRAMMY-nominated duo LMFAO, Redfoo has sold more than 3.4 million albums and 43 million singles and seen songs like "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy And I Know It" top charts around the world. Currently a judge on the fifth season of X Factor Australia, Redfoo saw his new solo single "Let's Get Ridiculous" hit #1 and go platinum Down Under as the track is released to the rest of the world this week.

As backstage host, Grande, one of today's hottest new voices and star of the hit Nickelodeon show Sam & Cat, will be making her first appearance at the EMAs, coming off the massive success of her debut album Yours Truly, which has already debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart in the U.S., on the heels of the double platinum, Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 smash single "The Way" featuring Mac Miller.

Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis lead the "2013 MTV EMA" nominations with five nods each, while Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are each up for four awards. Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Green Day, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Daft Punk, Rudimental, Icona Pop and One Direction are each nominated for three awards. Artists with two EMA nods include Rihanna, Katy Perry, Eminem, Jay Z, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, The Killers, Paramore, Rita Ora, Drake, Afrojack, Avicii, Calvin Harris and Iggy Azalea. MTV will announce additional EMA performers and presenters at a later date.
Outside the US, the "2013 MTV EMA" will broadcast live Sunday, November 10th at 9:00PM CET*.
