A SINGLE DAD IS GIVEN THE CELEBRITY TREATMENT WHEN SHANNON ELIZABETH AND STEVE BYERS STAR IN "CATCH A CHRISTMAS STAR," A HALLMARK CHANNEL ORIGINAL MOVIE WORLD PREMIERE NOVEMBER 17

Part of Hallmark Channel's COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS, the #1 Most Treasured Holiday Destination by Television Viewers; Julia Lalonde and Kyle Breitkopf Co-Star

Shannon Elizabeth ("American Pie," "That '70's Show") portrays an international singing sensation getting a second chance at first love when she reunites with her high school sweetheart over the holidays in "Catch A Christmas Star," a Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere Sunday, November 17 at 8pm ET/PT, 7C. Steve Byers ("Immortals," "Smallville"), Julia Lalonde ("Ghostly Encounters") and Kyle Breitkopf ("Being Human," "Parental Guidance") also star. "Christmas Star" is part of Hallmark Channel's COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS, the #1 most treasured holiday destination by television viewers.

Nikki Crandon (Elizabeth) is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. Whether she's singing the National Anthem or promoting her latest album, everyone knows who she is-none more so than New Jersey high school basketball coach and widower Chris Mitchell (Byers), who was Nikki's first love in high school. When Chris' 10-year-old daughter Sophie (Lalonde) finds out her dad still has feelings for the singer, she takes matters into her own hands. With her 8-year-old brother Jackson (Breitkopf) in tow, Sophie sets out to reunite the two-and succeeds. After a paparazzo spots Chris and Nikki kissing goodnight in New York City, however, any hope of a private romance is gone. Within hours, their photo is all over Internet and in print. Nikki's business manager Jaycee (Zack Werner, "Canadian Idol") sees the budding relationship as a threat, both to Nikki's image and to the sale of her impending album and Christmas Eve concert, but Nikki's faithful assistant Carmine (Christopher Jacot, "Eureka") urges Nikki to follow her heart. Chris, meanwhile, is giddy to be reunited, but wary of the scrutiny he and his family are suddenly facing. When a misunderstanding and the growing glare of the public spotlight threaten Chris and Nikki's happiness, one can only wonder: Will fame get in the way of a merry Christmas?

"Catch A Christmas Star" is a Chesler/Perlmutter Production. Lewis Chesler, David Perlmutter, Robert Vaughn and Dominique Telson are executive producers. Marek Posival is the producer. John Bradshaw directed from a script by Rickie Castaneda.
