IFC KICKS OFF ALL NEW "BUZZFEED BLOCK" ON MAY 4
Each Block Accompanied by Exclusive BuzzFeed List at IFC.com
New York, NY - April 25, 2013 - IFC is teaming with pop culture juggernaut BuzzFeed for a new ongoing programming block starting Saturday, May 4 at 8pm ET/PT. The first IFC "BuzzFeed Block" will launch with a double feature of the Paul Thomas Anderson film, Boogie Nights, starring Mark Wahlberg, Heather Graham, Julianne Moore and John C. Reilly.
Tapping into their unique take on pop culture and expansive social media fanbase, BuzzFeed will create a signature online list for every on-air "BuzzFeed Block." Accompanying this "BuzzFeed Block" debut is an exclusive list comprised of "17 Incredibly Awesome Movie Prosthetics," which can be found only at http://www.ifc.com/buzzfeed-block. "The BuzzFeed Block" will return every Saturday on IFC through May and monthly thereafter.
Blake Callaway, IFC's SVP of Marketing said "Not since the Ten Commandments have lists been so talked about. BuzzFeed will make IFC's Saturday nights a little more 'buzzy' while keeping things 'slightly off.'" Who other than BuzzFeed and IFC could combine a screening of Boogie Nights with the top 17 film prosthetics of all time?"
Scott Lamb, BuzzFeed's Editorial Director also commented "TV is innately social and we couldn't be more thrilled to work with IFC to turn our shareable lists into a block of TV programming. It's a first for us and we're so excited and hope viewers will share while they're watching."
"BuzzFeed Blocks" in May include:
Saturday, May 4: Boogie Nights double feature
Saturday, May 11: City Slickers & Austin Powers Goldmember
Saturday, May 18: Collateral Damage & The Fugitive
Saturday, May 25: Arrested Development marathon
