"The Cleveland Show" Not Canceled, But No Additional Episodes at This Time

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX is keeping the future of "The Cleveland Show" in limbo.

Network sources have confirmed to the site that the network has "not ordered any additional episodes of 'The Cleveland Show' at this time" but were quick to stress the show has not been canceled.

Said development was likened to "Family Guy" and "King of the Hill," both of which were taken out of cycle at one point (the former from February 2002-May 2005, the latter from May 2006-January 2007) but ultimately returned at a later date.

Both cases however aren't entirely comparable: "Family Guy" was definitively canceled in 2002, while "King of the Hill" was still in production during its broadcast hiatus.

It's not clear if a final decision will be made by FOX's upfront presentation on Monday, May 13.

All of the network's other animated series - "The Simpsons," "Bob's Burgers," "Family Guy" and "American Dad" - have been renewed through next season while a new addition, "Murder Police," is on tap.
