ROBIN ROBERTS TO JOIN MICHAEL STRAHAN AS GUEST CO-HOST ON "LIVE WITH KELLY AND MICHAEL," MONDAY, APRIL 1, 2013
New York, NY - March 29, 2013 - "Good Morning America" co-anchor ROBIN ROBERTS is moving uptown for a day, trading in her Times Square digs for the Upper West Side studio of "LIVE with Kelly and Michael" on Monday, April 1, 2013. Roberts will fill in as guest co-host for the vacationing Kelly Ripa, joining Michael Strahan at "LIVE's" host chat desk for the day.
Strahan and Roberts will welcome actor LAURENCE FISHBURNE, who will fill them in about the new series "Hannibal." Plus, "Castle" star STANA KATIC stops by, and the latest eliminated finalist from "American Idol" will perform.
Roberts was named co-anchor of "Good Morning America" in May 2005. She began contributing to the morning program in June 1995 and has worked in broadcasting for more than 20 years. Under her leadership, "Good Morning America" has won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program. Roberts recently returned to her anchor chair after a months-long battle with the rare blood disease, MDS. This week ABC News received a Peabody Award for ongoing coverage of her journey and raising awareness for bone marrow donation.
