Series Picked Up for 10 Episodes and Slated to Premiere in 2014

NEW YORK, March 13, 2013 - The "Broad City" girls of New York are headed to the all comedy network! The critically acclaimed digital series is transitioning from the web to a weekly, half-hour scripted series on COMEDY CENTRAL. "Broad City," starring Upright Citizens Brigade alums Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, has been ordered to series, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, COMEDY CENTRAL. Executive produced by Jacobson, Glazer, Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation"), 3 Arts' Dave Becky and Generate's Sam Saifer, along with Tony Hernandez as Co-Executive Producer, the series is set to premiere in 2014 with 10 episodes.

"Finally, there's a television show set in New York City," said Alterman. "I'm immensely proud that we have done it first."

"I'm excited to work with Comedy Central and introduce Abbi and Ilana to America," said Poehler. "And all the other countries. And also Mars. We've got big plans."

"Broad City" follows two friends in New York City, played by Jacobson and Glazer, navigating their way through the minutiae that is life, making the smallest and mundane events strange and funny. Described as "passionate, funny and sometimes raunchy" by The New York Times, their dynamic relationship, combined with their impeccable comedic timing and chemistry, has earned the two comedians praise from The Wall Street Journal, Time Out NY, The Fader, and AV Club, among others. The series has been nominated for the ECNY's "Best Web Series" award; Jacobson and Glazer also were nominated individually.
