LOS ANGELES - February 21, 2013 - With the sudden and unexpected passing of country singer Mindy McCready, E! News examines her last days and what drove her to take her own life at the young age of 37. Hosted by Jason Kennedy, this half-hour special investigates Mindy's last days, the pressure she faced from her rising fame, her fight with addiction and previous suicide attempts, and the recent loss of her "soulmate" David Wilson. "Mindy McCready: Hope To Heartbreak" includes Mindy's last audio recording with Private Investigator Danno Hanks detailing out how she found Wilson, interviews with those closest to her including her best friend, who talks about her state of mind towards the end of her life, and how Hollywood reacted to her passing. Featuring Mindy's last sit down interview with NBC News Dateline Correspondent Andrea Canning, this special takes a look at where her life went wrong, how she handled the death of her baby's father David Wilson, and the legacy she leaves behind.
At the young age of 17, Mindy McCready finished high school and headed off to Nashville to chase her dream to become a country superstar. Shortly after, she found success with her debut album "Ten Thousand Angels" giving her a number one hit "Guys do it All the Time." Mindy's early achievements promised a bright future for this blonde beauty. Reaching fame so quickly and at such a young age, the pressure contributed to her downward spiral in 2004. Since then, the stories of success changed to stories of domestic violence, drug abuse, and her losing custody of her children. Mindy's life seemed to regain control when her and her boyfriend David Wilson welcomed their son Zander just last year, but his shocking death 8 months later sent the singer spiraling down a familiar, destructive path, which eventually led to her own untimely death.
