New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will make his long-awaited first visit to the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN, Monday, Feb. 4 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Gov. Christie, the outspoken 55th and current Governor of New Jersey, was elected to the office in November 2009 and has gained attention on the national stage for delivering the keynote address at the 2012 Republican National Convention and for his response to the devastation throughout his state following Hurricane Sandy. Letterman has made Gov. Christie and his weight the brunt of many a joke on the LATE SHOW. Regarding the jokes about his weight by Letterman and other comedians, the Governor said at a press conference in October 2011, "I think, for me, their job is to be funny, and if one of the things they want to make fun of is my weight, then, you know, it's fair game. I'm a public figure, so they can make fun of it. All I care about is that they actually are funny, you know, so that I can at least laugh about it while they're mocking me."
The LATE SHOW will also feature a host of big names in entertainment the week of Feb. 4, including a week of performances by Elvis Presley tribute artists. Elvis tribute artist Cody Ray Slaughter will perform on the broadcast Monday, Feb. 4. On Tuesday, Feb. 5, actor Eric Stonestreet, actress Pauley Perrette from the hit CBS drama series "NCIS" and Elvis tribute artist Brandon Bennett will appear. Actor Joel McHale, dog trainer and reality television star Kenny Licklider and Elvis tribute artist Justin Shandor will visit the broadcast Wednesday, Feb. 6. On Thursday, Feb. 7, two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field, who is again nominated for the prestigious honor for her role in the film "Lincoln," and Elvis tribute artist Shawn Klush will appear on the LATE SHOW. GRAMMY(R) Award-winning superstar Mariah Carey will talk to Letterman, while Elvis tribute artist Ben Portsmouth will perform on the LATE SHOW Friday, Feb. 8.
The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated. Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.
