BLINK (The CW) - The David Marshall Grant-produced drama - about "a family whose lives are forever changed when the patriarch has a car accident resulting in a coma-like syndrome where he cannot speak or move, but can see and hear all" - is the latest to receive a pilot order at the netlet. Vera Herbert penned the hour and will serve as a supervising producer for CBS Television Studios. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman of the studio-based Timberman-Beverly Productions are executive producing alongside Grant. (Deadline.com)
HATFIELDS & MCCOYS, THE (NBC) - John Glenn's present day take on the Hatfields and McCoys - set in Pittsburgh, where "a startling death re-ignites the feud between these two legendary families, unleashing decades of resentment" - has received a pilot order from the Peacock. Beau Flynn, Charlize Theron and Dawn Parouse Olmstead also serve as executive producers on the hour, which is set up at ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
HOW THE HELL AM I NORMAL? (ABC) - Jeff Garlin ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") has scored a role on the comedy pilot, about growing up in the 1980s with a highly screwed up but loving family. He'll play patriarch Murray ("hot-tempered, gruff") who "struggles to stay calm after his last heart attack upon a stern warning by his doctor." Wendi McLendon-Covey also stars as his wife in the single-camera project, from writer Adam F. Goldberg, director Seth Gordon and producer Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
JOE & JOE & JANE (NBC) - Larry Wilmore has boarded the comedy pilot, about "a conflict-avoidant children's book author caught in an ongoing tug-of-war between his wife (Sally Pressman) and his co-author/best friend." Chuck Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky and Gemma Baker are all behind the multi-camera project, which is set up at Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
SPY (ABC) - Rob Corddry ("Childrens Hospital") has booked the lead role on the comedy pilot, about a hapless single father who, trying to impress his horribly precocious nine-year-old son, quits his job and goes to work for the CIA. TOMORROW PEOPLE, THE (The CW) - The netlet's import of Roger Price's 1970s British series - about "several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically" - has snagged a pilot commitment. Phil Klemmer penned the teleplay to the hour and is executive producing alongside Julie Plec, FremantleMedia's Tony Optican and Berlanti Productions' Greg Berlanti and Melissa Kellner Berman for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
UNDER THE DOME (CBS) - Jolene Purdy and Nicholas Strong are the latest additions to the upcoming drama, about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. Purdy will play Dodee, "a brilliant, eccentric engineer at the local radio station who will draw on her unique skills in an effort to make contact with the world outside the dome"; while Strong is set as Phil, "a popular radio DJ and indie rock fanatic, a charismatic figure with a dark secret." Alex Koch, Britt Robertson, Colin Ford and Natalie Martinez also star in the project, based on Stephen King's best-selling novel and produced by Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios.
