Sing Along with Dora In Brand-New Primetime Special, "Dora Rocks!" Premiering Monday, Jan. 14, at 7PM (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon
NEW YORK, Jan. 8, 2013 -- Nickelodeon invites preschoolers to jam with Dora in the brand-new Dora the Explorer primetime special, "Dora Rocks!" premiering Monday, Jan. 14, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The half-hour adventure gives kids the opportunity to practice their musical skills and play interactive games learning geometry and catchy Spanish words and phrases. Emmy award-winning Dora the Explorer currently reaches more preschoolers than any other show on television (12.4 million), and averages a 4.9/661,000 K2-5 and 1.5 million total viewers.
In "Dora Rocks!" Benny is having a sing-along party but he forgot to send out the invitations. Dora and Boots must get the microphone to Benny's Barn to call their friends to the party! They rush down the Noisy River, create a rocky avalanche to cross the Rumble Rocks, and arrive at Benny's Barn to call everyone to the barn. Then Dora, dressed in her pop-star outfit, performs a special song with all her friends.
Nickelodeon's award-winning website, www.nickjr.com currently offers parents and preschoolers the opportunity to learn more about the "Dora Rocks" special and print out activities like a musical learning pack, make your own microphone, puppet theatre, and much more. Parents are able to submit videos of their kids rocking out to the song from the special for a chance to see them in a music video on TV and on the website. Nickjr.com also features a brand new online game for kids, "Dora Rocks: A Sing-Along Party Game" and there will be a Dora fan club sweepstakes giving away the ultimate music party, plus other "Dora Rocks" prizes.
Nickelodeon brings the Dora Rocks! experience to Target's guests with exclusive Dora-themed merchandise. Now through April, Dora apparel, DVDs, electronics, toys, books and other products, will be available exclusively at Target stores and on Target.com. Additionally, the Dora Rocks! CD is now available at Target and other retailers, and features 12 upbeat tracks including the series theme song and tunes featured in the Dora Rocks! television special.
