Hilarious Ads Vie for Top Spot in truTV's "Funniest Commercials of the Year"

Wipeout Star John Henson to Host One-Hour Special Premiering Jan. 3

Voting Lines Now Open Online at http://veryfunnyads.com

As the year winds down, truTV is gearing up to celebrate the most hilarious commercials of the past 12 months with the all-new special Funniest Commercials of the Year. Fans are invited to go online now to http://veryfunnyads.com to vote for their favorite commercials. The results will then be counted down during the special by host John Henson, star of the hit series Wipeout, which currently airs weekends in primetime on truTV. Funniest Commercials of the Year is set to premiere Thursday, Jan. 3 at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on truTV.

Beginning with this year's special, truTV is taking over the extremely popular Funniest Commercials franchise from sister network TBS, which has aired the prior eight year-end specials, as well as several other mid-year specials. In addition to Funniest Commercials of the Year, truTV has ordered a showcase of funny commercials featuring animals. Funniest Animal Commercials of the Year is slated to premiere on truTV in early 2013.

Funniest Commercials of the Year will be packed with commercials from around the world, many being shown for the first time on American television. The collection will include the 10 outstanding ads chosen as finalists for the title of "Funniest Commercial of the Year." From now until Dec. 21, fans can watch all 10 finalists at http://veryfunnyads.com and vote for their favorite. Fans are allowed to vote multiple times, but no more than once per day. Henson will then reveal the voting results at the end of the January special.

The following are the 10 commercials chosen as finalists for 2012:

· Fallsview Casino Resort - "Coconut" (Canada)

· Fed Ex - "Band" (Argentina)

· Canal Digital - "The Man Who Lived in a Film" (Norway)

· Doritos - "Sling Baby" (United States)

· BGH - "Dads in Briefs" (Argentina)

· Old Spice - "Bounce" (United States)

· The Trainline - "Be Sensible" (United Kingdom)
