FOX Trims "The Goodwin Games" Order to Seven Episodes

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has rolled back its commitment to the midseason comedy "The Goodwin Games."
The series - about three grown siblings (Becki Newton, Scott Foley and T.J. Miller, who's replacing Jake Lacy from the original pilot) who return home after their father's death, and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit a vast fortune... if they adhere to their late father's wishes - will now produce just seven episodes, down from its previous 13-episode order.
Said move was simultaneously reported by sister sites Deadline.com and TVLine.com.
The bulk of FOX's Tuesday lineup - "Raising Hope," "New Girl" and "The Mindy Project" - is set to produce 24 episodes this season, making rescinding "Goodwin's" commitment not much of a surprise. The newcomer will presumably spell fellow freshman "Ben & Kate" - which has a 19-episode order - sometime in the spring.
Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris co-created "Goodwin," which comes from 20th Century Fox Television.
