THE CHILLS, THEY'RE MULTIPLYING WITH THE RETURN OF SYFY'S HIT SERIES "PARANORMAL WITNESS"

SEASON TWO OF THE TOP-RATED SERIES DEPICTING REAL-LIFE HAUNTINGS PREMIERES ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8 AT 10 PM ET/PT

NEW YORK, NY - July 23, 2012 - Syfy's true terror breakout hit series, Paranormal Witness, will leave viewers jumping out of their seats with fear when it kicks off its second season on Wednesday, August 8 at 10 PM (ET/PT). Through gritty, realistic cinematic reenactments, Paranormal Witness recounts the bone-chilling, real-life paranormal experiences of everyday people and allows viewers to experience the terrifying moments for themselves. Actual eyewitnesses share their firsthand accounts of the inexplicable phenomena that forced them to try to make sense of the scariest, most inconceivable events of their lives.

Twelve all-new episodes - twice as many as in its debut season - of Paranormal Witness will have hearts pounding as they delve into even more viscerally frightening stories of evil spirits, watchful ghosts, werewolves and UFOs.

Paranormal Witness ranked as one of the Top 10 new original cable series in the fourth quarter of 2011 among adults 18-49 (#7). In its debut season, Paranormal Witness averaged 1.7 million total viewers, 990,000 adults 18-49 and 980,000 adults 25-54, while averaging a 1.3 household rating.

In the coming weeks, Paranormal Witness will also feature eyewitness accounts and high-octane realistic reenactments of well-documented, legendary paranormal activity, including "The Dybbuk Box," the cursed box found in Portland that inspired the upcoming feature film, The Possession; "The Abduction," Arizona logger Travis Walton's true life UFO experience and one of the most well-known cases of alien abduction ever recorded; and "The Real Haunting in Connecticut," the famed story (which was turned into a book and movie) of how the Snedeker family was tormented by demonic presences while living in a former funeral home in Southington, Conneticut.

Paranormal Witness offers up truly spine-tingling tales of inexplicable phenomena by seamlessly weaving firsthand testimonials of real-life experiences that defy explanation with dramatic reenactments and actual evidence of the events that occurred. The series is produced by Raw TV (Locked Up Abroad and Gold Rush: Alaska). Series producers are Mark Lewis and Lucy van Beek. Executive producer is Bart Layton.

First up this season are:

"MAN IN THE ATTIC"

Wednesday, August 8 at 10 PM (ET/PT)

A young mother rents a California bungalow for her growing family. All's well, until she starts hearing strange noises coming from overhead. Soon, she's plagued by unseen hands moving objects, glowing lights, phantom blood and a recurring apparition of an old man. When the haunting gets to be too much for her to deal with, she calls in a paranormal team - the actual archival footage the cameraman captures in the attic is shocking.

"THE BROOKLYN HAUNTING"

Wednesday, August 15 at 10 PM (ET/PT)

A family moves into a dilapidated Brooklyn, NY townhouse that could be their dream home. A basement excavation reveals a strange door leading to a dirt-filled room. When the kids go inside to explore, they awaken half-century-old phenomena that leaves the family paralyzed in their beds. Night terrors, ghoulish whispers, physical attacks and a mysterious wedding dress are only the start of the family's haunting.

"CAPITOL THEATRE HAUNTING"

Wednesday, August 22 at 10 PM (ET/PT)

A Salt Lake City police officer is thrilled to be posted to graveyard shift guard duty at the prestigious Capitol Theatre as his first assignment. But, night after night, the cop and his partners find themselves investigating slamming doors, burning smells and other strange happenings in the supposedly empty building.
