"MTV2's GUY CODE" SECOND SEASON EXTENDS ONLINE WITH LAUNCH OF NEW "GUY CODE" BLOG ON MTV.COM
"MTV2's Guy Code" Premieres Tuesday, July 17 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT
NEW YORK, N.Y. (July 17, 2012) - MTV2, MTV's sibling network targeting young male viewers, today announced that its "Guy Code" franchise is moving online as it merges with MTV.com's successful male-centric Clutch blog today to now become the Guy Code blog in anticipation of the second season premiere on-air at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV2.
The Guy Code blog will act as a daily extension of the on-air franchise, giving fans additional out-takes and new videos featuring "Guy Code" cast members discussing and acting out the ins and outs of the special code that exists between bros. In addition, the blog will continue to cover all things MEN as CLUTCH did, including comedy, sports, hip-hop, tattoos, MMA, celebrities and much more.
Also online, fans can head to GuyCode.MTV2.com to catch sneak peeks, cast bios, exclusive photos and much more, jump on the MTV WatchWith app to see the best comments on the show from their closest friends, other viewers - and even the cast members themselves - as well as unlock badges on GetGlue.
The first season of "Guy Code" remains the highest-rated original series in MTV2 history.
About "MTV2's Guy Code" Second Season:
Coming in at 6'4", 415 pounds, Christopher "Big Black" Boykins of MTV's "Rob & Big" and "Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory" joins the "Guy Code" panel for the first time, along with comedian Chris Distefano, model and "Bizarre Magazine" cover girl Levy Tran, and "America's Next Top Model" contestant and model Lisa Ramos.
The new season will pick up right where it left off, giving viewers the ins and outs of the special code that exists between bros as told through talking-head style commentators, absurd humor, and funny and inappropriate animation. Featuring today's pop culture entertainers, top comics, rappers and specialized experts, the series will alter the manscape forever with the rules for life's most important situations from bachelor parties and stress, to dealing with cops, pregnancy scares, piercings, lying, farting and much more.
But wait - there's more! This season is all about the field test, as the Guy Code cast members head out to test the limits of the code during real life experiences, including everything from the joys of a spa visit, to shooting rifles at a gun range and even trying yoga for the first time. In addition, each episode will feature a new segment called #DontJudgeMe where panelists reveal embarrassing personal moments and guilty pleasures that many would never admit to; along with the return of the popular "Pro Tips" and "Good Ass Night" segments.
Other talent appearing in the series include: Alesha Reneé ("E! News Now," "BET Now"), Andrew Schulz (comedian, MTV's "New Year's Eve Bash," Music Choice's "Certified"), April Rose (model, Maxim "Hometown Hottie"), Charlamagne Tha God (radio personality, entertainer, producer), Damien Lemon ("Russell Simmons Presents the Ruckus"), Dean Edwards (comedian, "Saturday Night Live"), Donnell Rawlings (comedian, "Chappelle's Show"), Jon Gabrus (comedian, MTV's "The Substitute," "Gabrus on Rugby"), Jordan Carlos (comedian, "I Just Want My Pants Back"), Lil Duval (comedian, "Hood State of the Union") and Melanie Iglesias (model, Maxim "Hometown Hottie").
The second season of "Guy Code" continues MTV2's investment in an original programming destination on Tuesday nights at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT that launched with the first season of "Guy Code" and has continued with the original series "Nitro Circus Live" and "Hip Hop Squares." Since then, the network has seen double digit time period increases with its core demos including +18% among P12-34 (.26) and +35% among M12-34 (.35). The first season of "Guy Code" remains the network's highest-rated original series ever.
MTV2 is home to Malennials, featuring music, comedic and action-oriented original programming such as Hip Hop Squares, The DUB Magazine Project, 120 Minutes, Nitro Circus Live and the dominant hip-hop franchise, Sucker Free.
