LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The CW closed the books on its dramas this afternoon as "The Secret Circle" and fellow freshman "Ringer" have been canceled.
The news - as first reported (and then corrected)* by TVLine.com - comes after a busy day of pickups by the netlet.
"The Secret Circle," alongside its Thursday lead-in "The Vampire Diaries," were actually even with the last year's numbers for "Diaries" and "Nikita" among women 18-34 (The CW's target demographic) but down 14% in total viewers and 9% in adults 18-49.
Meanwhile, "Ringer's" Tuesday run - alongside "90210" - were collectively down 15% in women 18-34, 5% in total viewers and even in adults 18-49 as compared to last year's offerings on the night ("One Tree Hill," "Life Unexpected" and "Hellcats").
