ALCON ENTERTAINMENT FORMS TELEVISION DIVISION

Sony Pictures Television Executive Vice President Of Drama Sharon Hall in Final Negotiations For President

LOS ANGELES, CA, MARCH 2, 2012 -In its ongoing effort to diversify beyond its core business of financing and producing theatrical motion pictures, Warner Bros.-based Alcon Entertainment ("The Blind Side," "The Book of Eli,") has formed Alcon Television to develop, finance and produce quality original programming for broadcast on network and cable television, it was announced by Co-founders and Co-CEO's Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.

A wholly entrepreneurial new division, Alcon Television will create programming with the intent to retain domestic and international rights, as it does with its feature productions.

Sharon Hall, currently Executive Vice President of Drama for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), is in negotiations to helm the new enterprise as President. Hall, who will report to Kosove and Johnson, will build the division from the ground up and operate out of Alcon's Century City offices.

At SPT, Hall oversees the development and production of scripted programming in the drama area, working with writers and producers on projects for both broadcast and cable.

During her tenure at SPT, Hall has been responsible for developing the studio's recent high profile dramas, including, "Unforgettable" for CBS, "Pan Am" for ABC and "Necessary Roughness" for USA.

States Johnson and Kosove: "We feel Alcon Entertainment is uniquely positioned to compete in today's burgeoning television marketplace. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Sharon, whose track record of overseeing both creatively and commercially successful shows, is very impressive."

Hall also developed the critically acclaimed and award winning shows "Breaking Bad" for AMC and "Damages" for DIRECTV's The 101 Network, as well as "Justified" for FX "Drop Dead Diva" for Lifetime and "Franklin & Bash" and "HawthoRNe" for TNT.

Before joining SPT, Hall served as vice president of programming for MTM Television, overseeing syndicated and children's television production. Prior to that, Hall was vice president of programming at BBDO Worldwide, overseeing client-supplied programming for Pepsi, Chrysler and Campbell Soup. She won a Peabody Award for the MTV/FOX special "Rock The Vote."

Hall began her professional career as a development executive at MGM Television as well as Viacom. Hall lives in Los Angeles with her husband, writer Todd Ellis Kessler, and their two sons.
