LIFETIME'S DANCE MOMS FRANCHISE GETS EVEN HOTTER!!!

Network Picks Up DANCE MOMS: MIAMI

Spin-off of Hit Docusoap to Feature All-New Dance Instructors, Talented Students and Passionate Mothers at Top Miami Dance School

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 17, 2012) - The growing craze surrounding Lifetime's hit docu-series Dance Moms will soon head south to the hot and sultry locale of Miami, Florida. The network has picked up six hour-long episodes of Dance Moms: Miami, a new addition to the program's expanding franchise, it was announced today by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager of Lifetime Networks.

Dance Moms: Miami will go behind-the-scenes at Miami-based Stars Dance Studio, where the school's owners and renowned contemporary dance instructors Victor Smalley and Angel Armas teach, train and choreograph a diverse group of talented girl and boy dancers as they strive to become the best in the sport of competitive dance and tomorrow's stars. While Victor and Angel fiercely dedicate their lives to their craft, they expect the same from both their young and impressionable students and their equally passionate mothers. What envelops the series' unique cast, the students' style of performance and their unwavering pursuit of dance titles are the intense drama and often conflicting goals and aspirations among teachers, students and parents.

"Dance Moms quickly became a stand-out hit for Lifetime last year that we knew would be perfect to build out and franchise into other series," said Dubuc. "Dance Moms: Miami captures the same energy, passion and conflict between an equally intriguing cast of instructors, amazing dancers and moms who are 100% dedicated to become the best at what they do."

The series will be produced by Collins Avenue and executive produced by Jeff Collins, Bryan Stinson and John R. Corella with Lifetime's Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Kim Chessler.

Lifetime's flagship competitive dance competitive series Dance Moms follows children's early steps on the road to stardom and their doting mothers who are there for every rehearsal, performance and bow all under the discerning eyes of notoriously outspoken dance instructor Abby Lee Miller. The series, also produced by Collins Avenue, recently returned for its second season with record viewership, having posted double and triple digit gains across key demographics versus its season one debut and became the program's most watched telecast ever with 2.5 million Total Viewers. With a median age of 37, Dance Moms is Lifetime's youngest skewing series. Since its July 2011 premiere, Dance Moms has been viewed by more than 60 million viewers across all platforms, including linear, online and VOD.
