BEAUTIFUL GANGSTERS (ABC, New!) - Newcomer Ryan Tavlin is behind a potential new drama at the Alphabet about "three mafia wives who cut a deal with the FBI to enter Witness Protection together in exchange for their testimony, in the hopes of giving their families a second chance at life. The FBI relocates them to a suburban border town in Canada, where they struggle to fit in, struggle to make ends meet... and struggle to resist temptations to take criminal shortcuts." Landscape Entertainment, Rose Consulting Entertainment, Last Straw Productions and FremantleMedia Enterprises are all co-producing the hour, which would film in Canada and is being eyed for a summer run. Bob Cooper, J.J. Jamieson and Anthony LaPaglia then will executive produce with Jordan Helman serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
ISABEL (NBC, New!) - Howard Busgang and Tom Nursall have booked a pilot commitment at the Peacock for a new single-camera comedy about "an otherwise normal angry middle-class family that wrestles with the challenges of everyday life while raising a daughter who has magical qualities." Said half-hour is based on the French-Canadian series "Le Monde De Charlotte." Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Sphere Media's Jocelyn Deschenes then will executive produce alongside the duo, who penned the project on spec. Casting is underway for a Los Angeles shoot. LUGGAGE WARS (Spike TV, New!) - Gurney Productions is developing a new "Auction Hunters"-esque reality series at the cable channel about "a group of industrious and resourceful individuals known as 'baggage bidders,' who travel the country in search of fortune, going head-to-head at lost luggage auctions." As with storage units, bidders are forbidden to actually touch to the luggage up for auction. No other auspices were given for the half-hour project, which has a pilot order. (Deadline.com)

Bailey) three children who apparently gets ripped off pawning some personal items in an attempt to pay for her beloved dog's veterinary care" (EW.com); crime novelist Patricia Cornwell will appear as herself on an upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds," due January 18 (TVLine.com); "General Hospital" alumnus Ingo Rademacher will guest on "Hawaii Five-0" as "a father whose kid is being held prisoner on a hijacked school bus" (TVLine.com); Gregory Harrison has been tapped as the wealthy father of Tara Summers's Gemma on "Ringer" (TVGuide.com); plus Nia Vardalos is set to star and executive produce a potential comedy about "a morning show host (Vardalos) who after reaching a tipping point encourages her viewers and the people around her to wake up" for ABC Studios (THR.com).
