THE MEADOWS (NBC, New!) - "Memphis Beat" creators Liz W. Garcia and Joshua Harto have sold a new drama to the Peacock about "the outsider from the wrong side of the tracks was able to rise to the top and explores the dark mystery that threatens to take it all away from him." Said hour, from Universal Television-based Stuber Pictures, would follow two parallel storylines: "the 1960s odyssey of Lucia "Lucy" Cortes who flees an abusive marriage with her 12-year-old son Tommy to start over in Las Vegas and the present day in which Tommy is a powerful, enigmatic casino owner poised to become the King of Vegas." Scott Stuber and Quan Phung then will executive produce alongside Garcia and Harto. (Deadline.com)
MOTHER TERESA (ABC, New!) - Teresa Strasser (TLC's "While You Were Out") is on track to bring her book "Exploiting My Baby: Because It's Exploiting Me" to the small screen. THE NEXT INSANELY GREAT THING (NBC, New!) - Feature writer Daniel Taplitz ("Red Dog") has booked a new drama at the Peacock about "the last company town in America when the suburban townspeople agree to become test subjects for a high-tech company's social-media experiments, with unexpected, hilarious and emotionally gripping results." Said hour, which is inspired by a true story, comes from ABC Studios and the studio-based producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses. (Variety.com)
THE PREGNANCY PROJECT (Lifetime, New!) - Alexa Vega ("Spy Kids") is set to star in a new original movie at the cable channel "based on the true story of 17-year-old Washington state high-school student Gaby Rodriguez who pretended to be pregnant in an effort to explore conventional stereotypes and the treatment of pregnant teens for a senior year school project." Norman Buckley is on board to direct the project from a script by Teena Booth ("The Pregnancy Pact") with Barbara Lieberman and Tom Patricia serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
STEEL MAGNOLIAS (Lifetime, New!) - Director Kenny Leon ("A Raisin In The Sun") and executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are looking to reteam for a small screen take on the much-ballyhooed 1989 film "Steel Magnolias" featuring an all-black cast. Sally Robinson ("Iron Jawed Angels") is writing the project, which will be "set in Louisiana and explore the bond among a group of women in the present day." Robert Harling penned the feature based on his play of the same name. Zadan and Meron's Sony Pictures Television-based Storyline Entertainment is producing. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED HANNIBAL BURESS PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Comedian Hannibal Buress is set to topline a potential comedy at the network to be co-written by Jonah Hill. (Deadline.com)
WEDNESDAY NIGHT WARRIORS (FOX, New!) - Mike Sikowitz ("Rules of Engagement") has booked a new single-camera comedy at the network about "the lives of five high school basketball teammates who have remained close friends and basketball buddies into their 30s."
