SUMMER'S HOTTEST DANCE SERIES "SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE" WALTZES INTO A NINTH SEASON ON FOX
FOX has picked up SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE for its ninth season, it was announced today by Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
"For the past eight seasons, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has been a huge part of our success. We are excited to bring the series and an incredible set of new dancers back for another fantastic season," said Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
Last summer, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE ranked No. 1 in its time period among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.
Audition information for Season Nine will be announced soon.
Throughout its eight seasons, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has revolutionized the dance world and introduced viewers to cutting edge new styles like Krumping, Jookin' and Popping and Locking. SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE remains America's favorite summer dance competition series with 10 Emmy Awards and 24 nominations. This season's winner, Melanie Moore, was awarded a cash prize of $250,000, the cover of November's Dance Spirit magazine, and she will be recognized as a Gatorade athlete on www.gatorade.com and in Gatorade's new G Series FIT print campaign.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and dick clark productions. The series is executive-produced by Fuller, Lythgoe and Barry Adelman.
