MTV's "True Life" Explores New, Compelling Moments in Youth Culture

As the temperature heats up, MTV's Emmy(R) award-winning series "True Life" is returning with all new hot-button topics this summer. Premiering Thursday, June 23rd at 10PM ET/PT the new season will take viewers along the intimate journey's of young people that have come to a crossroad in their lives. This season will include topics including several young people trying to come to terms with what their heart and mind's want out of love, a set of young men being sent away by parents fed up with their unbearable attitudes and a group of entrepreneurs trying make sure their foray into the marijuana industry does not go up in smoke.

Below are detailed descriptions of the "True Life" episodes that are scheduled to air:

June 23rd at 10P - TRUE LIFE: I'M ALLERGIC TO EVERYTHING

Living with severe, life-threatening food allergies can feel like traversing a minefield. In this episode viewers will meet two young people who are trying to lead normal lives in spite of the potential danger they face every time they eat. They are exploring new and complicated medical treatment in hopes of overcoming their extensive allergies.

June 23rd at 11P - TRUE LIFE: I'M NO LONGER GAY

On this episode viewers meet two young people that have expressed their sexuality in the same way for their entire adult life - but then decided to change your orientation completely. Though they once considered themselves gay, they are doing everything they can to be straight with hopes of living what they - and those closest to them - consider to be normal lives. They are trying to find the path to inner peace, but are learning that along with peace comes sacrifice.

JUNE 30TH 10P - TRUE LIFE: I CAN'T GET OVER MY FIRST LOVE

Experiencing one's first love is one of the joys of coming to age. However, the pain of a first heartbreak is often magnified. On this episode two young people in desperately as they longing for the ones that got away. They are doing everything they can to rekindle old flames with people that have completely moved on. Viewers find out if they can they light the fire - or are they setting themselves up to get burned all over again.

June 30th 11P - I HATE MY ROOMMATE

On this episode two sets of incompatible roommates who have finally reached the breaking point. These former close friends are being torn apart because their living situation has become a volatile situation. They are doing all they can to maintain a civil union but the clashes are pushing them to a point where they are ready to kick one another to the curb.

JULY 7TH 10P - TRUE LIFE: I'M BEING SENT AWAY BY MY PARENTS

Two rebellious young men are causing so much trouble for their parents that as a last resort are being sent to live far away from home to improve their troubling behavior in this episode. The frustrated parents are shipping them off to strict, unfamiliar environments aimed at correcting their defiant conduct once and for all.

JULY 14TH 10P - TRUE LIFE: I'M A SUGAR BABY

On this episode three self-proclaimed sugar babies struggle with the consequences of taking cash and gifts in exchange for the pleasure of their company. For them, their affection comes with a price tag attached and they have to decide if money will buy happiness - or leave them emotionally bankrupt.

JULY 21ST 1OP - TRUE LIFE: I'M IN THE MARIJUANA BUSINESS

As marijuana becomes essentially legal in dozens of states, tens of thousands of people are working to take advantage of a booming business that is being dubbed "the green rush." At the same time, young people trying to sell marijuana in states where it's still illegal struggle to stay out of jail. In this episode, viewers meet three young people grappling with the highs and lows of trying to make a living in the marijuana business.
