ENTERTAINMENT EXECUTIVE AND PRODUCER PETER TRAUGOTT JOINS UNIVERSAL MEDIA STUDIOS FOR NEW PRODUCTION POD

Rachel Kaplan Also Re-teams with Traugott from Brillstein Entertainment Partners

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 13, 2011 - Veteran television executive and producer Peter Traugott will join Universal Media Studios in a three-year overall development deal to produce scripted comedy and drama programs for NBC and other networks. Joining him in his company will be Rachel Kaplan ("Ringer"), who previously worked closely with Traugott at Brillstein Entertainment Partners as Executive Vice President, Television Production.

The announcement was made by Bob Greenblatt, Chairman, NBC Entertainment.

"Peter is a widely respected and successful executive and producer with a savvy instinct for exceptional television," said Greenblatt. "In my years working with him on various projects at Brillstein Entertainment - and previously when we were colleagues together at FBC - he has demonstrated a deep commitment to developing outstanding television and attracting creative talent. I'm thrilled that he wanted to join our re-emerging studio at NBC."

"It was a very tough decision for me to leave Brillstein; I've been here 15 years and they have become like a second family to me," said Traugott. "But the chance to work with Bob and his team at NBC, and be a part of what they're building, was too good an opportunity to pass up. And I couldn't be more excited that my colleague, Rachel Kaplan, chose to join me."

Traugott most recently was President of Television at Brillstein Entertainment Partners (BEP) where he served in that capacity for the past nine years. Brillstein Entertainment has produced both scripted and reality series for all the major broadcast networks, pay cable and basic cable outlets, including the upcoming drama "Ringer" as well as "The Sopranos," "The Larry Sanders Show," "According to Jim," "Just Shoot Me," "NewsRadio" and "Real Time with Bill Maher." Traugott began at Brillstein Entertainment in 1996 as a Vice President of Development.

Prior to joining BEP, Traugott was the Director of Current Programming for Fox Broadcasting, where he worked on several series, including "King of the Hill," "Party of Five," "The Simpsons" and "Married with Children."

As Executive Vice President, Television at BEP, Kaplan developed and sold over two dozen drama, comedy and unscripted TV projects as part of the company's overall deal with ABC, including "Ringer." Earlier, she was Head of Scripted Television at BermanBraun from 2007-09, where she developed over 30 drama and comedy projects at various major TV networks, including "Accidentally on Purpose" and "Mercy."

Kaplan also was Vice President, Drama Development, for Warner Bros. Television, where she developed and sold projects to multiple networks, including "The O.C.," NBC's "Chuck" and "Gossip Girl."
