MTV'S HIDDEN CAMERA SERIES "DISASTER DATE" RETURNS FOR A FOURTH SEASON premiering MAY 16th AT 6:30 PM ET/PT
This Season Features Several Celebrity Guest Appearances Including The "Jersey Shore" Cast
New York, NY (May 11, 2011) - Singles beware! MTV's blind date comedy "Disaster Date" is returning for a fourth season with 20 brand new episodes featuring several celebrity guest appearances from the "Jersey Shore" cast and an all-star lineup of improvisational actors, beginning Monday, May 16 at 6:30pm ET/PT.
MTV's hilarious hidden camera series will return to give those who have experienced bad blind dates a chance to settle the score. "Disaster Date" sends their unsuspecting friends on blind dates, but what they don't know is that they're really going to be set up with an over-the-top actor who will bring their dating nightmares to life. The season premiere kicks off with "Jersey Shore's" Pauly D setting up fellow cast member Deena Cortese on a date. Additional celebrity appearances this season include "Jersey Shore's" Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jayson Blair from MTV's "The Hard Times Of R.J. Berger" and the indie pop band Hellogoodbye. In addition to the celebrity dates, this season will also feature "stunt" dates involving trained stunt professionals - as well as double disaster dates where two marks will be set up at the same time.
As the friends watch the entire date from the control room, they direct the actors by feeding them personal information about the dater that is guaranteed to create a disaster. Each blind date lasts 60 minutes, unless the dater can't put up with it anymore and decides to leave. Humiliation has a price as the dater earns a dollar for every minute they stay on the date. The series features seven new improvisational actors that cycle through the series playing various outrageous characters no one would want to date. Some daters last the entire date, but others will flee before the clock runs out.
"Disaster Date" is executive produced by SallyAnn Salsano, Joel Zimmer and Pam LaLima. James Bianco is head of production, Brad Kreisberg serves as director and Amy Griggs is executive in charge of production. James DeSimas serves as the development executive for MTV and Jennifer Russakoff serves as the executive in charge of production for MTV.
