CMT HONORS PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON'S SPECIAL DAY WITH A "CMT BIG REDNECK SALUTE TO THE ROYAL WEDDING" MARATHON
CMT To Air 22 Episodes of MY BIG REDNECK WEDDING
Friday, April 29 - Sunday, May 1
NASHVILLE - April 14, 2011 - As viewers all over the world watch the love story of Prince William and Kate Middleton unfold before their very eyes, and as anticipation reaches a fevered pitch for the wedding of the century, CMT, too, pays tribute to true love with the CMT BIG REDNECK SALUTE TO THE ROYAL WEDDING, beginning Friday, April 29 at 1:30 p.m. through Sunday, May 1. This weekend-long love letter to weddings and all things redneck will feature popular episodes of MY BIG REDNECK WEDDING, hosted by Tom Arnold.
Although they may live in very different parts of the world, both William and Kate and our REDNECK WEDDING couples share several similarities when it comes to meticulous event planning:
Wedding location - The Westminster Abbey may be steeped in tradition and history for the Royal Family, but our couples also choose wedding locations steeped in family tradition, like the local mud bog, the backyard or the race track.
Wedding Attire - While Kate must decide which leading fashion designer will craft her wedding dress, our brides must also search for the perfect wedding attire and debate the age old dilemma -- camouflage or duct tape?
The Cake - The Royals may use award-winning bakers or serve fancy multi-tiered fruitcakes and chocolate biscuit cakes, but the redneck couples still have to choose whether a fresh pair of deer antlers or beer cans will serve as cake toppers.
No matter what our soon-to-be-newlyweds decide, one thing remains the same with the Royals and the rednecks - their undying love for each other.
MY BIG REDNECK WEDDING is produced by Kimberly Belcher Cowin and John Ehrhard of Pink Sneakers Productions. Lewis Bogach serves as executive producer for CMT.
