David Hudson Promoted to Senior Vice President, Late Night and Specials, for TBS and TNT
Turner Entertainment Networks (TEN) has promoted David Hudson to serve as senior vice president, late night and specials, for TBS and TNT. In this new role, Hudson will be responsible for oversight of late-night programming, an area that has grown significantly in importance for TBS. He will also continue to lead the development of specials for TNT and TBS, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards(R) show on TNT and TBS and Christmas in Washington on TNT.
Hudson previously served as vice president of alternative programming for TBS and TNT. Hudson, who is based in Los Angeles, reports to Michael Wright, executive vice president and head of programming, TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM).
"David has done a tremendous job supervising many key projects for TBS and TNT, including the high-profile launches of CONAN and Lopez Tonight," Wright said. "David will play a critical role in our late-night efforts on TNT and TBS, and this promotion is much-deserved."
Prior to serving as vice president of alternative programming, Hudson was vice president of production, sponsored programming, for TBS and TNT. He was responsible for the originals team's interaction with ad sales, TBS movie showcases and digital extensions of both networks' programming. He also served as vice president of production and production finance for TBS and TNT original programming.
Before joining Turner, Hudson earned many credits as an executive-in-charge of production, line producer and co-series producer. His credits include Earth's Fury, Hard Copy, A Current Affair and HBO Entertainment News. In 1998, Hudson created his own production company, David Hudson Productions, to develop reality-based programs. He also served as a budgetary consultant for network, cable and syndicated programs.
Hudson earned a bachelor's degree in television production and film from Emerson College. He also graduated from the Executive Leadership Development Program at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. In 2010, Hudson was named among the Next Wave of Leaders by the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC).
