NBC RENEWS LATE-NIGHT'S 'LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY' FOR 11th SEASON IN 2011-12
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - March 15, 2011 - NBC has renewed its late-night show "Last Call with Carson Daly" (Monday-Friday, 1:35 a.m.-2:05 a.m. ET) for an 11th season in 2011-12. The announcement was made today by NBC's Rick Ludwin, Executive Vice President, Late Night & Primetime Series, and Nick Bernstein, Vice President, Late Night & Primetime Series.
"I am excited to continue with what we are doing here at 'Last Call,'" said Daly. "We give our viewers something unique and interesting every night to watch and I am very proud of that."
"'Last Call' is enjoying its best season yet and its ratings are up," said Ludwin. "We're pleased it's going to continue."
Daly has recently been tapped to host NBC's upcoming reality competition show "The Voice," premiering on Tuesday, April 26 (9-11 p.m. ET).
"Last Call" has garnered acclaim for its gritty documentary style, innovative format, and rock 'n' roll vibe. This season, Daly pushes the "doc" style even further, by focusing not only on compelling and interesting stories but the storytellers as well.
Daly remains a trendsetter when it comes to introducing new musical talent on his show and "What's Next Now." "Last Call" is currently paying tribute to "Women Who Rock" this week with interviews and performances from Florence + the Machine, among others. The show also features in-depth interviews with Oscar-nominated directors David O. Russell and Danny Boyle, as well as the cast of "Jackass 3D." Fans can also look forward to upcoming episodes from the South by Southwest Festival.
"Last Call with Carson Daly" is produced by Universal Media Studios. Stewart Bailey and Guy Oseary continue as executive producers.
