Logo Rescues Hapless Daters With the Aid of Professional "Wingmen" in the New Docu-Reality Series "Setup Squad"
Series Premieres Monday, April 25th Immediately Following Season Finale of Logo's Flagship Series "RuPaul's Drag Race"
NEW YORK, March 9, 2011 -- Calling all dating misfits! Logo looks for true love with the premiere of "Setup Squad" - a new, docu-reality series that follows an up-and-coming dating agency in New York City specializing in professional "wing" women and men who transform their dating-dud clients into confident daters. From the producers of "Pawn Stars," the 60 minute, 10 episode series premieres at a special time Monday, April 25 at 11:30/10:30C immediately following the season finale of "RuPaul's Drag Race." Subsequent episodes will premiere in the series' permanent time slot on Mondays at 9/8C.
"Setup Squad" follows no-nonsense Renee Lee, a dating expert in New York City and her agency "Wings, Inc." Her company has a novel approach for people who are unlucky in dating: partnering her clients with professional "wing" women and men.
Renee's formula for success is the belief that anyone, whether male or female, gay or straight; can help an unlucky dater master the vital skills to dating 101. Renee's diverse, sassy team exemplifies this philosophy including: Lauretta, a married, vivacious "queen bee" who is Renee's "tell-it-like-it-is" right-hand woman in the business; Jonathan, a gay man who possesses the compassionate, Southern gentleman approach to boosting his client's confidence; Meredith, a lesbian real-estate agent by day who helps clients "seal the deal" with her persistence and dedication; and Helen, a single, straight comedienne and new recruit to "Wings, Inc." who believes humor is the best icebreaker to love at first sight.
These professional "wingmen" do more than help their client find the cutest person at the bar. They give clients a dating makeover - transforming the client from 'shabby and shy' to 'chic and confident'. As they find ways to increase their client's self-esteem and wane their anxieties, the "wingmen" provide a real shot at love by breaking the ice for them in social settings. Then the real drama unfolds. Will the client land the deal with his or her newly found "game" or get snubbed by the intended target? Will the behind-the-scenes corporate drama amongst our "wingmen" compromise their Cupid duties? Find out in this highly-charged reality series combining the most sizzling parts of dating shows with the most electric elements of workplace dramas.
Get the latest on the "wingmen" as they share dating tips and tales of daily workplace drama on the "Setup Squad" Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/SetupSquad.
