DORA DONS DANCING SHOES IN NEW PRIMETIME SPECIAL "DORA'S BALLET ADVENTURE" PREMIERING MONDAY, MARCH 14, AT 7PM (ET/PT) ON NICKELODEON
The world's beloved Latina heroine trades her sneakers for ballet slippers in the new Dora the Explorer primetime special, "Dora's Ballet Adventure," premiering Monday, March 14, 7-7:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon. "Dora's Ballet Adventure" will encore Tuesday, March 15 and Friday, March 18, at 9:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon and Sunday, March 20, at 7:00 p.m. (ET) on Nick Jr. (Nickelodeon's 24-hour digital preschool channel).
In "Dora's Ballet Adventure," Dora's dance class is having a big recital for all of their friends and family. Dora is opening the show and can't wait for her family to see her dance. She just needs her dance slippers, but the delivery duck gives her scuba flippers instead! It's a dance-filled adventure as Dora and Boots play "follow-the-bunny" through Bunny Hop Hill, dance in the animal hoedown at Benny's barn and rush to the show aboard the dancing train so everyone can perform in the recital.
Beginning March 7, a sneak peek from "Dora's Ballet Adventure," will be available on Nickelodeon's award-winning website, www.nickjr.com, and clips from the episode will be available on wireless partners. Beginning March 14, the Dora's Ballet Adventures App will be available on iTunes for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The App contains activities where preschoolers can help Dora dance, match animals, and play songs while learning about different musical instruments. On March 16, www.nickjr.com will feature the "Dora's Ballet Adventure" game where kids must help Dora and Boots put on their big dance production. The site will also feature dance-themed printables, crafts and more.
The Dora the Explorer: Dora's Ballet Adventures DVD is currently available at Target stores nationwide. Created by Nickelodeon Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, Dora the Explorer: Dora's Ballet Adventures includes the title movie plus three additional dance-themed episodes of Dora. In support of the DVD and primetime television event, a line of Dora ballet-themed consumer products will be available exclusively at Target stores this spring. The line includes toys and games featuring the Dance & Sparkle Ballerina Dora doll by Fisher-Price, a dress-up collection, infant and toddler apparel, and more.
