FOX BROADCASTING COMPANY ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE PROMOTIONS

Terence Carter, Suzanna Makkos and Marcus Wiley Upped to Senior Vice President

Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) has promoted three key development executives, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment for the network.

Suzanna Makkos and Marcus Wiley have both been promoted to Senior Vice President, Comedy Development, and will continue their joint oversight over all of the network's comedy development initiatives in both live action and animation. In addition, Terence Carter has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Drama Development, and will oversee all of FOX's drama development efforts and staff. Carter, Makkos and Wiley will report directly to Reilly as part of a new development structure aimed at eliminating layers. Additionally, FOX is recruiting four new development staff members to support Carter, Makkos and Wiley to create a more robust scripted development team and foster better collaboration with writers and producers.

"Suzanna, Marcus and Terence have delivered for FOX and have delivered for me," said Reilly. "I trust their creative judgment 100 percent. I have a fantastic working relationship with each of them, and I know they have the drive and curiosity to feed our network with the most innovative scripted ideas for years to come."

During his tenure as Vice President, Drama Development at FOX, Terence Carter has developed critically acclaimed dramas THE CHICAGO CODE and "Lone Star" as well as HUMAN TARGET and the upcoming family adventure series, TERRA NOVA. In addition, Carter worked with Reilly on the first season of the network's Golden Globe Award-winning series, GLEE, this season's No. 1 scripted program with originals among Adults 18-49. Carter joined FOX from NBC Entertainment/Universal Media Studios, where he served as Vice President, Drama Programming and developed "Parenthood," "Southland" and "Mercy," as well as the critically acclaimed "Kings." Prior to joining the Drama team at NBC, he served as Director of Comedy Development for the network. Prior to NBC, Carter served as a head of Development at Tonic Films, specializing in genre films. While there, he supervised the development of "Borderland" and "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever." He also served as a partner at TruEntertainment, and held positions at Artists Production Group and Artists Management Group. Carter graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in African-American Studies.

As co-heads of comedy development at FOX, Suzanna Makkos and Marcus Wiley have cultivated several successful live action and animated comedies for the network, including THE CLEVELAND SHOW, from animation heavyweights Seth MacFarlane, Rich Appel and Mike Henry, and this season's newcomers RAISING HOPE and BOB'S BURGERS. In addition, they developed ALLEN GREGORY, the new animated series from Jonah Hill, Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul that will air on FOX next season.

Prior to her role in development, Makkos served as a current programming executive at the network, covering comedies such as FAMILY GUY, "Arrested Development," "The Bernie Mac Show" and "Malcolm in the Middle," as well as dramas "Prison Break" and "Boston Public." Before joining FOX, Makkos began her career in development and current programming at Walt Disney Television/Touchstone Television and Regency Television. She graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor's degree in American History.

Wiley previously served as a creative executive for Regency Television, where he was a liaison between that boutique studio and the network television community. While there, he developed series for every broadcast network and covered current production for the studio's shows, including "Malcolm in the Middle" and "The Bernie Mac Show." Wiley originally joined FOX in 2000, spending two years as an assistant in the programming and development department. He graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a bachelor's degree in Economics/Law and Society.
