INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY AND NEW WAVE ENTERTAINMENT ARE "CLEANING UP"
- ID and New Wave Partner on Original Docu-Series -
(Silver Spring, MD) - Investigation Discovery today announced a three-episode order of CLEANING UP from New Wave Entertainment. The docu-series follows Neal Smither, his wife Lindy, and their company Crime Scene Cleaners, as they run their unique business which cleans up everything from bio-hazards to fatalities to beached whales.
"Investigation Discovery is currently the fastest growing network in cable, with an incredibly diverse slate of original programming every night of the week," said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager, Investigation Discovery. "CLEANING UP has all the hallmarks of a great character-based docu-series while staying true to ID's mission of superb storytelling. We look forward to this genre-stretching new series from New Wave Entertainment."
Smither created the idea for his multi-million dollar company ten years ago while watching the movie "Pulp Fiction." He has since encountered every kind of clean up imaginable and has grown his fledgling business into a multi-million dollar empire. On call 24/7, his team never knows what to expect when they are called to a scene. Not only is Smither responsible for his tight-knit group of 18 employees, he also manages to balance his extremely demanding, and very unpredictable, job with his home life with Lindy and their two kids.
The concept was developed by Matt Ogens (Director/Producer of "Confessions of a Superhero"), who will executive produce with New Wave's Barry Katz and Brian Volk-Weiss.
New Wave Entertainment (nwe.com) is an integrated production, marketing, design and talent management company with credits including E!'s "Pretty Wild," NBC's "Last Comic Standing," A&E's "The Battle for Late Night," "Frank TV" for TBS, "Tourgasm," for HBO and ABC's "The Next Big Thing." NWE currently has six scripted half-hour projects at CBS, NBC and ABC.
