"THE RIDE: THE ROAD TO THE U.S. ARMY ALL AMERICAN BOWL" ENTERS THE END ZONE ON JANUARY 22 AT 11 P.M. ET ONLY ON MTV2

DREAMS OF A DIVISION 1 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP AND PLAYING ON A NATIONAL STAGE FULFILLED FOR A HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR FROM TEXAS

NEW YORK, NY (January 19, 2011) - MTV2 will air the season finale of the critically acclaimed football docu-series, "The Ride: The Road to the U.S. Army All American Bowl" on Saturday, January 22, at 11 p.m. ET. The final episode is the culmination of the series that followed the lives of eight talented, yet under-the-radar high school quarterbacks, as they competed for a coveted spot on the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the nation's premiere high school football game.

Saturday night's episode will unveil the season's winner, Driphus Jackson, a high school senior from Cedar Hill, Texas. The season finale will highlight his journey during his final preparation for and participation in the U.S. Army All American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, which took place on January 8. In addition to hitting the gridiron for the Western team during the U.S. Army All American Bowl, Jackson made the biggest play of his life by committing to attend Rice University and wear blue and gray for the Owls upon graduating this year.

"The entire experience on 'The Ride' has been absolutely tremendous, eye-opening and maturing. The national exposure and opportunity was once-in-a-lifetime, and the coaching truly helped elevate my overall game and technique," said Jackson. I can't say enough about the overall experience - just amazing and I'm thankful to have been a part of 'The Ride.' And hopefully I can help to be a good example to the youth throughout my community and nation that hard work can pay off - with a little luck from 'The Ride,' MTV2 and Football University."

"The Ride" captured an in-depth look at the intense football scouting process of eight quarterbacks who possessed raw talent and competitive drive for the sport. The underdog quarterbacks featured in the series all hailed from little-known high schools, but embarked on a grueling, high-stakes, season-long tryout in which every move they made was scrutinized by the top coaches in the nation.

The level of difficulty in each challenge was at an all time high for these athletes who had to push beyond their existing limits and withstand the fierce competition from the best players in the nation in order to play in front of a nationwide audience and gain enough exposure to land a Division 1 scholarship.
