Heidi Klum-Hosted SERIOUSLY FUNNY KIDS Joined by All-New Hospital Docu-Series ONE BORN EVERY MINUTE, Family Reality Program QUAD SQUAD (working title) and Workplace Docu-Series GLAMOUR BELLES
PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 7, 2011 -- In addition to its recently announced unscripted series Seriously Funny Kids, hosted by supermodel and supermom Heidi Klum (Project Runway), Lifetime Television will launch three all-new reality programs next month, including One Born Every Minute, Quad Squad (working title) and Glamour Belles.
The half-hour series Seriously Funny Kids, which follows Klum as she interacts with children and brings out the hilarious and often insightful things they say, will debut on Tuesday, February 1, at 9pm ET/PT with back-to-back episodes. Lifetime has ordered 20 episodes of the program. Seriously Funny Kids is produced by LMNO Productions, with Klum, Eric Schotz (Kids Say the Darndest Things, I Get That A Lot), James Rowley (America's Most Talented Kids), Desiree Gruber (Project Runway) and Jane Cutler (Project Runway) of Full Picture and JoAnn Alfano, Gena McCarthy and David Hillman of Lifetime Television serving as executive producers.
Following Seriously Funny Kids will be the premiere of the hospital docu-series One Born Every Minute at 10pm ET/PT on Tuesday, February 1. In eight, hour-long episodes, the series takes an in-depth look at life inside the maternity ward at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, as expectant mothers enter their final stage of pregnancy. From the delivery room, to the operating room, to the front desk, to the nurses' station...40 cameras roll 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to capture the high drama, humor and overwhelming emotion of child birth as new lives begin and others change forever. Based on the popular U.K. format, One Born Every Minute is produced by Reveille Independent, with Elisabeth Murdoch (MasterChef), Howard T. Owens (MasterChef), Daniel Soiseth (America's Next Top Model), Robin Ashbrook (Live to Dance), Shelley Schulze (Trauma: Life in the ER), Sanjay Singhal (The Event: How Racist are You?) and JoAnn Alfano, Gena McCarthy and Sandy Varo Jarrell of Lifetime Television executive producing.
The family reality series Quad Squad (wt), following a set of identical quadruplet sisters -- one of only 63 identical quads in the world -- as they juggle their last year of high school in Minnesota, will premiere Wednesday, February 9, at 9pm ET/PT. The program will feature vivacious 17-year old sisters Calli, Kendra, Megan and Sarah Durst as they endure the everyday trials, tribulations and emotions of being middle-America teenagers during one of the most pivotal times in their lives - senior year of high school.
Eight one-hour episodes will document the fun and pressures associated with each quadruplet's experience juggling adolescence, including boys, school, homework, sports, gossip and what lies ahead for them, their older brother Travis and their single mother Naomi. As the sisters decide on colleges, they must deal with the possibility of splitting up, and with Travis heading off to school as well, Naomi faces an empty nest for the first time in 19 years. Quad Squad (wt) is produced by Asylum Entertainment, with Jonathan Koch (30 for 30), Steven Michaels (The Locator) and JoAnn Alfano, Gena McCarthy and Kim Chessler of Lifetime Television serving as executive producers.
Lifetime will premiere the workplace docu-series Glamour Belles on Wednesday, February 9, at 10pm ET/PT. Over the course of six half-hour episodes, Glamour Belles will shine the spotlight on the colorful employees and customers of Joann's Gowns, a small town, yet nationally renowned, pageant gown shop in Union City, Tennessee. The show follows the humorous drama that surrounds Joann's, where girls from throughout the country hope to purchase the perfect dress that will help lead them to the biggest pageant crown. Led by owner Paige Burcham Carlton, Joann's experts help transform their stable of customers into modern day princesses with a healthy dose of Southern hospitality, hilarity and honesty that can only be found at the venerable store. Behind the rhinestones and ruffles, the unique cast of characters who work at Joann's includes its flamboyant store manager Jared, brash assistant manager Nikki, naive salesgirl Brooke, melodramatic seamstress Stephanie and the store's original owner Joann, Paige's outspoken mother. Glamour Belles is produced by Magilla Entertainment and executive produced by Matt Ostrom, Brian Flanagan, Laura Palumbo Johnson (Jersey Couture), and JoAnn Alfano, Gena McCarthy and David Hillman of Lifetime Television.
