ALTERNATIVE FAMILY (NBC, New!) - Jamie Tarses ("My Boys") is developing a new comedy at the network about "a woman who raises a baby with the help of her two gay friends." No other details were given about the half-hour, which is presumably set up at Sony Pictures Television where Tarses's FanFare Productions is based.
CAMP (The CW, New!) - Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah ("90210") are developing a new drama at the netlet set at a music camp. Additional specifics about the hour however weren't given.
THE GOOD WIFE (CBS) - Tim Guinee ("Lie to Me") is set to recur on the show's second season. He'll play Wiley, "an investigator working for the State's Attorney's office [who] agrees to do a little reconnaissance for now-prosecutor Cary (Matt Czuchry) and hits pay dirt." Said arc begins early next year.
HOMELAND (Showtime) - Claire Danes, fresh off her Emmy win for "Temple Grandin," is in talks to star in the drama pilot, about "a U.S. Marine who is recovered during a drone strike 10 years after going missing during the invasion of Baghdad." She'd play Carrie Anderson, "a smart, driven and iconoclastic CIA case officer" who "receives a tip from an informant that the American POW enjoying a hero's welcome home has been turned and he is leading the next big strike against the American homeland." Howard Gordon, Alex Gansa and Gideon Raff penned the hour, which is based on Raff's Israeli series "Prisoners of War," for Fox 21. Michael Cuesta is attached to direct while Avi Nir and Ron Telem are executive producing alongside the creators.
PERCEPTION (TNT) - Rachael Leigh Cook ("Psych") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Dr. Geoffrey Pierce (Eric McCormack), "an eccentric neuroscientist who uses his unique outlook to help the federal government solve complex cases." She'll play Kate Rossi, a "sexy, sharp-tonged and smart FBI agent who recruited her former professor Pierce to work for the Bureau." Kenneth Biller and Mike Sussman are behind the ABC Studios-based hour, to be directed by Alan Poul directing. Arjay Smith also stars.
RAISING MEN (CBS, New!) - Aron Abrams and Gregory Thompson ("Bob's Burgers") have booked a new comedy at Eye about "a father who learns how to be truly masculine from his sons." CBS Television Studios and Samuel L. Jackson's UppiTV banner are behind the half-hour, which is based on A.J. Jacobs's Esquire piece "How to Raise Men" from earlier this year. Abrams and Thompson are co-writing the project and will executive produce alongside Jackson with Amanda Tracey serving as a co-executive producer. Jacobs's 2009 book "The Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life as an Experiment" is also being developed as a comedy over at NBC.
UNTITLED DYLAN WALSH PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Dylan Walsh is back is business with the Eye as the actor is attached to a potential drama set at the FBI. Julie Hebert ("NUMB3RS") is behind the hour, which comes from CBS Television Studios and Timberman/Beverly Productions. Walsh toplined "The Line" for the network and the aforementioned companies during the last development cycle. Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly will once again executive produce alongside Hebert.
UNTITLED FREDDIE ROACH PROJECT (AMC, New!) - Famed boxing trainer Freddie Roach is set to be the focus of a potential new reality series at the cable channel. Said effort would follow "Roach's work with boxers as he struggles to ward off the creeping symptoms of Parkinson's disease - an aliment possibly linked to his own days in the ring." Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are among the many staples of Roach's Wild Card Gym in Hollywood. Film 44's Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey ("Friday Night Lights") are the executive producers as are Jim Lampley, Michael Price and showrunner Brian Hyland.
UNTITLED JOE KEENAN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Joe Keenan ("Desperate Housewives") is developing a new comedy at the Peacock about "a husband and wife who remain pals even after their marriage breaks up once he comes out." No other details were given about the half-hour, which Keenan presumably will write and executive produce.
UNTITLED MICHELLE NADER PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Michelle Nader ("100 Questions") has booked a potential half-hour at the Eye about "a divorced mom who moves in with her gay best friend." Said comedy is presumably set up at Warner Bros. Television, where Nader inked an overall deal this past summer.
UNTITLED QUEEN LATIFAH PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Queen Latifah is reportedly developing a medical drama at the network. No specifics or other auspices were listed for the project.
