SUPERNANNY (ABC) - Jo Frost is departing the series after seven seasons due to its exhausting production schedule. "I have decided to hang up my cape," she told The New York Post this week. "It was a very conscious decision, through much reflection. But I need to create more balance in my life." Frost nevertheless hopes to bring her current U.K. series, "Extreme Parental Guidance," to the States.
TERRA NOVA (FOX) - Rene Echevarria ("Castle") has reportedly signed onto the much-ballyhooed series, where he'll help showrunner Brannon Braga supervise production on its two-hour pilot - which begins this week. Echevarria's addition comes on the heels of significant turnover on the project, including the departures of Michele Fazekas, Tara Butters and Chris Brancato, not to mention the previously reported David Fury. 20th Century Fox Television, DreamWorks Television, Chernin Entertainment and Kapital Entertainment continue as co-producers.
TILDA (HBO) - Alan Poul ("Swingtown"), Alexa Junge ("United States of Tara") and John Hoffman ("The Alzheimer's Project") have all been tapped as executive producers on the potential Diane Keaton-led comedy, about a powerful female online showbiz journalist with a no-holds-barred style. They'll take over for Cynthia Mort, who departed the project over creative differences in August. The trio will work alongside showrunner Bill Condon, who helmed the pilot. David Harbour, Ellen Page, Jason Patric, Leland Orser, Sanaa Lathan and Wes Bentley also star.
UNTITLED CHAP TAYLOR PROJECT (FX, New!) - Chap Taylor ("Changing Lanes") and Rodrigo Garcia ("In Treatment") are set to write and direct, respectively, a potential new drama for the cable channel about an illegal Mexican immigrant working as a private investigator. Grady Twins's Dawn Parouse and Marti Noxon as well as Julie Lynn are also on board to executive produce the project alongside the duo. As for specifics, "in addition to relying on his own sleuthing skills, by being an illegal immigrant, the PI on the show will be able to tap into a network of other immigrants." It's not clear if a studio is attached.
