ABC Announces November Sweeps Programming
The Alphabet details its programming highlights for the November sweeps period (SPOILERS!).

ABC ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER SWEEPS PROGRAMMING

The ABC Television Network announces highlights of its upcoming November sweeps programming, including special episodes of some of television's biggest hit series; "ABC News -- Vote 2010" election night coverage; the 200th episode of "Dancing with the Stars;" and the premiere of new series "Skating with the Stars."

"JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE" - Throughout sweeps, Jimmy Kimmel hosts an all-star lineup and surprises from guests including, Boxer Manny Pacquiao, who will present the audience with another musical rendition, this time with Will Ferrell as his singing partner. Additional guests include Harrison Ford, Patrick Dempsey, Chris Pine, Ellen Pompeo, Danny McBride, Kate Walsh, Billy Bob Thornton, Danica Patrick, and exhibition archer Randy Oitker will attempt to set a new world record by shooting seven different targets with seven different arrows fired simultaneously from one bow. November also brings the first interview with the winner of "Dancing with the Stars," plus musical performances from Good Charlotte, Neil Diamond, Blake Shelton, Trey Songz, Jason Aldean, Nelly and My Chemical Romance. Jimmy Kimmel Live airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (12:05-1:05 a.m., ET).

"IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN" -- The classic animated Halloween-themed PEANUTS special, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (OAD on ABC 10/30/01), created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, as well as a bonus PEANUTS cartoon, "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown," in which Linus runs for class president, will air THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28 and FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET, both nights).

"GREY'S ANATOMY" - "These Arms of Mine" - A documentary film crew visits the hospital six months after the shooting to document the road to recovery for doctors and patients. The camera lenses follow Derek, Owen, Mark & Callie as they ambitiously perform a rare arm transplant surgery, Meredith helps Cristina put on a brave face for the cameras, and Bailey's patient, Mary (Mandy Moore), returns for her surgery -- which marks the first time they've all seen of each other since that fateful day -- on "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"PRIVATE PRACTICE" -"All in the Family" - Addison and Sam's relationship is strained when they disagree over the treatment and safety of a comatose patient who has become pregnant, while Pete and Charlotte are faced with the ethical dilemma of revealing the HIV status of a patient who has been in a serious auto accident. Violet crosses some boundaries with Pete's family as she gets caught up in the fray of Lucas's first Halloween, on "Private Practice," THURSDAY, OCTOBER 28 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?" -- "SEASON PREMIERE" -- "Primetime: What Would You Do?" looks as several scenarios, including "Cougar Tutor," in which a sexy, 30-something tutor is way too affectionate with a teenaged student, stroking his hair and rubbing his back, and "Gay Bullying," in which witnesses see a teenager being taunted mercilessly by his friends simply because he is gay, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET).

"20/20" - For eight months, "20/20" has followed young addicts Ashley, Dylan and Justin caught in the grip of heroin. This is a rare look at a largely unknown and growing problem for American families, heroin addiction. The number of addicts in America has nearly doubled since 2007, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. ABC News Anchor Chris Cuomo reports that heroin addiction is not to be dismissed as an inner-city scourge -- kids from suburban families are falling victim like never before, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET).

"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" - "Oregon School for the Deaf" -- Celebrity Volunteers Rob Zombie and Marlee Matlin make a special Halloween appearance on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET). The students at Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD) in Salem, Oregon, are well known for their spine tingling annual Halloween haunted house fundraiser -- dubbed the �Nightmare Factory.' The event, held in the basement of the boys' dormitory, goes a long way toward generating much-needed income for the 140-year-old financially-strapped school, a place which students consider their second home. But the 12,000 square foot basement where the Nightmare Factory is usually held has become frightfully unsafe. In just seven days, The "EM:HE" design team had to make the OSD basement safe again and trick it out in a scary and spook-tacular way.

"DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" -- "Excited and Scared" - As Halloween approaches, Susan is forced to reveal her secret, sexy internet side job to a shocked Mike; Juanita becomes suspicious of Gabrielle's sudden interest in Grace; Lynette becomes concerned about Tom's mother's memory lapses; Bree learns a secret about Keith; and Paul is encouraged to take wife Beth out on a date in order to light a spark in their unromantic relationship, on "Desperate Housewives," SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"BROTHERS AND SISTERS" -- "An Ideal Husband" - Everyone in the Walker family is willing to forgive and forget Scotty's infidelity. When the family all puts their best foot forward to help them reunite things unfortunately end up in a fist fight. Jack is reinvigorated by being back in the city and starts to pursue new ventures but Kitty can't seem to picture herself in this new life and Sarah and Luc share some exciting news with the family, on "Brothers & Sisters," SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"DANCING WITH THE STARS" -- 200th episode -- "Dancing with the Stars" celebrates its 200th episode with a spectacular two-hour night. The six remaining couples will each perform an iconic dance from the "Dancing with the Stars" history vault and compete in a team dance. Six former celebrities return as guest judges as they watch one of their iconic performances recreated on the dance floor. Helio Castroneves, Kelly Osbourne, Mel B, Drew Lachey, Giles Marini and Emmit Smith revisit the ballroom to act as a special �fourth judge' in the dance competition. The second element of the show will be a team competition, and fan favorites and former Mirror Ball champions Apolo Anton Ono and Kristi Yamaguchi return as team captains, on "Dancing with the Stars," MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (8:00-10:01 p. m., ET).

"CASTLE" -- "Almost Famous" -- Responding to an "Officer Down" emergency call, Castle and Beckett's latest case takes a shocking turn when it's revealed that the victim isn't a cop, but rather a male stripper dressed up as one. The murder leads them into the world of male strip clubs, the hardships of struggling actors, and the price that people pay in pursuit of fame. Did the victim's dreams of stardom get him killed or was there something even more nefarious afoot?, on "Castle," MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"DANCING WITH THE STARS THE RESULTS SHOW" -- 200th episode: Results Show -- The 200th episode celebration continues with a performance from multi-platinum music sensation Taylor Swift, famed rock icon Rod Stewart, and Macy's Stars of Dance features a performance by the cast of "Mary Poppins." The seventh couple to be eliminated this season will be sent home and The "Skating with the Stars" all-star cast will be revealed live on, "Dancing with the Stars the Results Show," TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2 (8:00-9:30 p.m., ET).

"ABC NEWS -- VOTE 2010" - ABC News team of anchors and correspondents will provide votes with an all-access pass to the key House, Senate and Gubernatorial races with reporting across multiple broadcasts and platforms. "VOTE 2010" will be anchored by "World News" Anchor Diane Sawyer and Chief Political Correspondent and "Good Morning America" Co-anchor George Stephanopoulos from ABC News headquarters in New York, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2 (9:30-11:00 p.m., ET).

"THE MIDDLE" -"A Birthday Story" - Frankie and Mike are speechless when, on his ninth birthday, Brick demands to hear the true story about the day he was born, which has remained a mysterious Heck family secret. Meanwhile, Axl's new manager at the movie theater turns out to be a conundrum - hot and dumb - which leaves a confused Axl wondering if her hotness trumps her incompetence, on "The Middle," WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET).

"BETTER WITH YOU" -- "Better with Road Joel" -- Joel and Ben accompany Casey on a road trip to Vermont to help him move his stuff out of storage. Ben looks at the trip as an opportunity to bond with Casey; but Joel sees the road trip as his annual chance to go off -- way off - of his salt-free diet. Meanwhile, the Putney women organize Mia's baby shower, and Casey's hard-to-please mother, the earthy but rather quirky Ariel, comes for a visit. Mia goes out of her way to be accepted by her future mother-in-law, but things get heated between Vicky and Ariel when both want their grandchild to call them "Nana," on "Better with You," WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET)

"MODERN FAMILY" -- "Chirp" - Claire and Haley have a bit of quality girl time while they're stuck at home sick, and Phil is preoccupied by the taunts of a chirping smoke detector. Gloria and Manny's surprise visit at Jay's work leads to headaches for Jay, and Cameron gets swept up by all the lights and cameras when he goes behind Mitchell's back and takes Lily for a commercial, on "Modern Family," WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (9:00-9:31 p.m., ET).

"COUGAR TOWN" - "Fooled Again (I Don't Like It) -- It's Jules' 42nd birthday and that can only mean one thing: gift contest! Each year, Jules holds a contest to determine who gives her the best gifts, which Ellie always wins. This year, Laurie teams up with Grayson in an attempt to overthrow her. As Jules contemplates what to do for her birthday, Andy suggests a night of dancing. Meanwhile, Travis introduces Bobby to a Netti Pot, but not without its consequences, on "Cougar Town," WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (9:31-10:01 p.m., ET).

"IN THE SPOTLIGHT WITH ROBIN ROBERTS: ALL ACCESS NASHVILLE" - Robin Roberts once again puts on her cowboy boots for an hour-long special, "In The Spotlight with Robin Roberts: All Access Nashville," which will give viewers an all-access pass into the homes and private lives of country music's biggest stars. Roberts will get up close and personal with such country superstars as Brad Paisley, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. The special also takes viewers inside the amazing homes of some of country music's biggest stars, including an exclusive tour of Kellie Pickler's new Nashville home, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET)

"GREY'S ANATOMY" -- "That's Me Trying" - The residents are pushed to their limits when Owen puts them through a rigorous trauma certification drill; meanwhile, Cristina is also tested when left alone to monitor a very ill lung transplant patient, on "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"PRIVATE PRACTICE" - "Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?" - After Pete discovers Charlotte in the halls of the hospital bloodied and bruised, he and their fellow doctors come to her aid, but only Addison learns the truth from Charlotte that she was sexually assaulted, on "Private Practice," THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"SUPERNANNY" -- SEASON PREMIERE - "Atkinson Family" - When Jennifer and John Atkinson of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, married four years ago, they had a dream of blending their existing families and having more children, too. Jennifer already had two teenagers, Amanda, 14, and Abbey, 13, and John shares custody of his daughter, Julia, age 10, from a previous marriage. The couple then had two children together: Reese, 4, and Maeve, 2 � years old. However, their hopes of creating a harmonious new family fell short, and they are officially at their wits' end. The oldest, Amanda, treats her mom terribly, openly defying her and bringing Jennifer to tears when she tells her she wishes her mom was dead. Reese has tremendous separation anxiety whenever John leaves the house and actually endangers herself by running pell-mell towards the street when he departs. Jo observes that the parents are coddling the children, being inconsistent about rules and parenting the children differently from each other. Can Jo get through to this family before it fractures? "PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?" "Primetime: What Would You Do?" will report on several scenarios, including "Alcoholic Mom": What happens when a new mom brings her infant baby to a bar, and what will the other patrons do if that new mom proceeds to have a few too many, while paying less and less attention to her child?, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET).

"20/20" - The testimony from two small children sent their father to jail for 20 years for sexual abuse� only to find that as adults, they were manipulated into perjuring themselves. Their father is released after 20 years and offers them forgiveness. Elizabeth Vargas reports, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET).

"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" - "Marshall-Spreier Family" -- Pop Star Kylie Minogue provides support for a single mother of nine after her 2,000 foot home was destroyed by a fire in Pocatello, Idaho. Breast cancer survivor Jane Marshall and her children were awakened by Betsy, the family dog. Thanks to Betsy, everyone was able to get out safely. To celebrate the Marshall-Spreier family's enduring human spirit in the face of difficulty, Ty and the "EM:HE" design team not only built them a new house in just seven days, but also found ways for some of Betsy's dog brethren to get involved in the transformation of this music-loving family's home. While designer Paul DiMeo played piano with a full symphony orchestra, team leader Ty Pennington orchestrated ten dogs to bring down the family's devastated house, including Molly, a dog who actually operated an excavator! This episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" airs SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).

"DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" - "A Humiliating Business" - Susan begrudgingly accepts Lynette's offer to be baby Paige's nanny; Bree is embarrassed to tell Keith that she's beginning to go through menopause; Renee makes a tempting job proposition to Lynette; Gabrielle fears that Bob is trying to seduce Carlos after the two strike up a friendship; and Beth begins to question Paul's motives on the lane, on "Desperate Housewives," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"DETROIT 1-8-7" - "Broken Engagement / Trashman" - Stone and Sanchez, dealing with the fallout from their personal attraction, are assigned with Fitch to investigate the murder of successful executive Abigail James from Detroit's "Tech Town." Is this a case of corporate competition gone haywire or the result of a messy love triangle? At the same time, Longford and Washington need to piece together the back story of another fresh murder case -- the lifeless body of a young drug dealer, "Toucan," is discovered in a trash bin, but is it strictly street business or pure personal passion? Meanwhile, Mahajan must search the city for a crucial eyewitness who failed to show in court to help convict a vicious skinhead of murder, and without him the killer may walk, on "Detroit 1-8-7," TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS" -- Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, "The 44th Annual CMA Awards" airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow will make her live Country Music singing debut, performing the title track from her forthcoming feature film, "Country Strong," and is joined in her CMA Awards performance by legendary singer Vince Gill. Additional performers include Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Sugarland, Underwood, Keith Urban and Taylor Swift. In addition, special duet performances will feature top nominee Lambert with Sheryl Crow in a tribute to Loretta Lynn's 50th anniversary as a recording artist, and Zac Brown Band with Alan Jackson, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 10 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET).

"GREY'S ANATOMY" -- "Something's Gotta Give" -- Top security measures go into place as a team of doctors, led by the Chief, try to save the life of a major policitcal figure from the Middle East. Meanwhile Cristina decides to finally decorate her new place and throw a housewarming party, and Alex shows up late from a weekend getaway to his first day of rounds with the new Pediatrics Attending, Dr. Phil Stark (guest star Peter MacNicol), THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 11 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"SUPERNANNY" -- "Peterfreund Family" - For the first time, Jo works with a family with a newborn when she encounters the Peterfreund family in Arizona. The parents, Keith and Sonya, are so overwhelmed with their three older boys, Jett, 5, Gage, 3, and Trey, 2, that they are missing baby Myles' cues about wet diapers, feedings, etc. Mom literally has to run through the house after the active older boys with Myles hanging off her arm, head bobbing dangerously. Keith is a flight attendant and travels frequently, and Mom doesn't have enough arms for all the work! Neither parent is consistent about discipline and their go-to punishment is "saucing" the three older kids, putting a dab of hot sauce on their lips. Can Jo show these overwhelmed parents of four how to parent effectively... without condiments? Find out on "Supernanny," FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).

"PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?" -- "Primetime: What Would You Do?" will report on several scenarios, including "Drunk Doctors": Two Doctors are at a bar doing some drinking in their scrubs. But instead of being an innocent after work get-together, these doctors make it known to the other patrons that they're an hour or two from beginning their shifts at the local hospital. What will bystanders do knowing that these doctors will see their patients in their inebriated states?, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET).

"20/20" - A Brian Ross investigation; plus, imagine finding out your "prince charming" has a dark secret past� Chris Cuomo reports, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET).

"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" -"Lighthouse School/ Sweatt Family" -- The Extreme Team returns to Nashville, Tennessee, inspired by the state that lives by the standard of neighbor helping neighbor. Devastated by the 500-year flood on May 1st of this year, one image continues to endure: News stations across the country featured footage of a school building floating down the interstate. What people didn't know was that the Sweatt family had been running the school since 2003. Despite the extensive damage to their own facility, Brian and his wife, Barbara, spearheaded recovery efforts and have helped over 200 families to date. On September 10th, the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" designers teamed up with some of country music's brightest stars (Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and LeAnn Rhimes) to take the bull by the horns and deliver a new school to some deserving students. This episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" airs SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 14 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).

"DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" -- "Sorry Grateful" - Thanksgiving on Wisteria Lane finds Gabrielle and Carlos hosting Carmen, Hector and Grace to a bountiful feast. But the Solis's discover some surprising news about the Sanchez's that could threaten their time with Grace. Meanwhile, Bree invites Keith's parents (John Schneider and Nancy Travis) to partake in Thanksgiving at her house and learns some family secrets; Susan butts heads with Lynette over her sleep training techniques for baby Paige; Renee continues to remind Tom about their past; and Beth tries to uncover more about Paul's past misdeeds, on "Desperate Housewives," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 14 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET).

"BROTHERS & SISTERS" - "The Rhapsody of the Flesh" - The charms and well intended matchmaking antics of Luc's visiting mother, Gabriela (guest starring Sonia Braga), quickly turn to high drama as she sticks her nose in Nora's romantic affairs, on this episode directed by Matthew Rys, on "Brothers & Sisters," SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 14 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"WORLD NEWS" -- Diane Sawyer will anchor "World News" from China MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15 through WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17 (6:30 p.m., ET). Traveling from Beijing to Shanghai, "World News" will take an in-depth look at what has given China a leading edge while the United States faces a stalled economic recovery. Sawyer, along with David Muir and Clarissa Ward, will go inside Chinese classrooms and businesses to explore what they are doing today that we can be doing tomorrow.

"CASTLE" -- Lyle Lovett ("The Player") and Lance Henricksen ("Millennium") guest star in "Close Encounters of the Murderous Kind" -- After a prominent astrophysicist's body is found in her car -- the victim of explosive decompression - Castle jokingly theorizes that perhaps she was killed in the vacuum of outer space. Yet as they delve deeper into the victim's life, they're confronted with a succession of evidence that keeps pointing them back to the impossible: Alien Abduction. Henrickson stars as Benny Stryker, a well known alien abduction expert, and Lovett plays a mysterious government agent intent on shutting down the investigation, on "Castle," MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET).

"NO ORDINARY FAMILY" -- "No Ordinary Mobster" - Jim's secret identity is at risk when he tries to take down a dangerous mobster who has eluded George for years; Stephanie continues to look into Dr. Volson's previous research of a mysterious plant - against Dr. King's wishes; Daphne convinces a reluctant JJ to use his powers to help her become more knowledgeable in order to impress a boy; and JJ goes to extreme measures to help Katie get a date, on "No Ordinary Family," TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 16 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET).

"DETROIT 1-8-7" -- "D�j� vu / All In" - Old and new Detroit collide in a case investigated by Fitch, Washington and Sanchez where a missing teen, Seth Cantor, seems to have been violently murdered - but there isn't a body. The detectives begin to unravel the disturbing homicide, which leads them to Seth's high school buddies, who are running drugs in from Canada and may have killed their friend by copying the MO of the Purple Gang, an old Detroit mob.
