ALCATRAZ (FOX, New!) - FOX has snagged J.J. Abrams's top-secret drama project, about "mysteries, secrets and the most infamous prison of all time." Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt are behind the hour, which Abrams and Bryan Burk are executive producing via their Warner Bros. Television-based Bad Robot banner. Sarnoff, Abrams and Burk then will serve as executive producers with Lilien and Wynbrandt as co-executive producers. It's understood FOX has given a pilot order to the project.
BETHENNY GETTING MARRIED (Bravo) - Filming has reportedly begun on a second season of the reality series. The cable channel however has yet to confirm said development or any potential title change due to the fact Frankel has now wed.
THE BIG BANG THEORY (CBS) - Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, and Jim Parsons have all completed their salary negotiations after almost three months. The trio will each earn $200,000 an episode for the upcoming fourth season, up from about $60,000 last season. Subsequent paydays are pegged at $250,000 for Season 5, $300,000 for Season 6 and $350,000 for Season 7. In addition, they'll receive 0.25% of the show's lucrative backend with over $1 million paid in an advance against it now and another $1 million in Season 7. Meanwhile, co-stars Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are likewise set to begin their own negotiations shortly.
CSI: NY (CBS) - Emmy-winner John Larroquette has booked a new gig on the veteran crime procedural. He'll play Deputy Chief of Manhattan Borough Detectives Ted Carver, who "butts heads with Mac (Gary Sinise) when it appears the Big Apple is being terrorized by a sniper" beginning in the November 5 episode. His character is further detailed as "hard-nosed and savvy, Carver rose through the ranks and carefully navigated the political waters of the NYPD to obtain the rank of Deputy Chief."
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (ABC) - John Schneider ("Smallville") is the latest addition to the Sunday soap. He'll play the father of the incoming Brian Austin Green, beginning with the seventh episode this season. No other specifics were given.
HOUSE (FOX) - Emmy-winner Candice Bergen has been cast as Cuddy's (Lisa Edelstein) mother on the long-running medical drama. She'll first appear in a November episode and is expected to stick around until January. Details about her character however are being kept under wraps.
HUMAN TARGET (FOX) - Tracie Thoms ("Cold Case") has landed a role on the show's sophomore season. She'll play Michelle, the ex-wife of Chi McBride's character, a role which may be recurring. Look for her first appearance in episode five, which also features Roger Bart.
PRINCE OF TIDES (ABC) - The Alphabet is once again trying to bring Pat Conroy's 1986 novel-turned-1991 Barbra Streisand/Nick Nolte film, about "a destructive family relationship and a father's abuse of his wife and children told through the eyes of one of the grown-up children," to the small screen. Craig Anderson originally sold the project as a TV movie back in 2003, which ultimately never moved forward. Bob Brush and Mel Harris are penning the new project, which is being eyed as a full-fledged series. Sony Pictures Television then is producing alongside Anderson, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Mitch Hurwitz. Conroy is on board as a non-writing consultant.
UNTITLED VICE PRESIDENT PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Sheldon Turner ("Up in the Air") and Shaun Cassidy ("Invasion") are developing a new dramedy at the Alphabet about a fictional vice president and his female chief of staff. Said hour, which is set up at ABC Studios, will be "less about politics and more about office dynamics, including a budding romance between the chief of staff and the veepee's son." Turner and Cassidy will then executive produce along with Jennifer Klein.
