A&E ORDERS SECOND SEASON OF THE HIT DRAMA SERIES 'THE GLADES' STARRING MATT PASSMORE
NETWORK ORDERS 13 EPISODES FROM FOX TELEVISION STUDIOS
FIRST SEASON OF THE GLADES PROPELLED A&E TO AD-SUPPORTED CABLE'S NUMBER ONE NETWORK ON SUNDAY NIGHTS
NEW YORK - September 13, 2010 - A&E Network has picked up a second season of the acclaimed drama series, "The Glades" starring Matt Passmore, it was announced today by Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of A&E Network and BIO Channel.
Season-to-date, "The Glades" is averaging 3.2 million total viewers per premiere episode with 1.3 million adults 25-54 and 1.1 million adults 18-49. Not only has the series become A&E's number one program among total viewers since premiering in July, but "The Glades" has propelled A&E to ad-supported cable's number one network on Sunday nights among total viewers.
"'The Glades' has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first season," said DeBitetto. "With superb writing and exceptional acting, led by a standout performance by Matt Passmore, we're pleased that the series has struck a chord with fans."
Season two of "The Glades" will begin pre-production later this year on thirteen new episodes slated to premiere in 2011. A&E is currently beginning production on the new scripted drama series "Breakout Kings," also slated for a 2011 premiere.
"The Glades" also stars Kiele Sanchez ("Lost," "Samantha Who?"), Carlos G�mez ("Shark," "Sleeper Cell") and Michelle Hurd ("Law & Order SVU," "Gossip Girl").
"The Glades" is produced by Fox Television Studios for A&E Network. The series executive producer is Clifton Campbell ("White Collar," "Profiler," "21 Jump Street") for Innuendo Productions and Gary Randall ("Saving Grace") for Grand Productions, Inc. The series creator is Clifton Campbell.
