DETROIT NATIVE XZIBIT TO GUEST STAR ON ABC'S "DETROIT 1-8-7"
Multi-talented, multiplatinum recording artist, actor and television personality Xzibit will guest star in an upcoming episode of ABC's highly anticipated new drama, "Detroit 1-8-7." The series premieres TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. Xzibit (Alvin Joiner) will portray hustler turned businessman Russell Pitts, who is a record producer specializing in hip-hop artists. Hailing from Detroit, Xzibit's role reflects the series producers' ongoing effort to showcase local Detroit talent.
Best known for hosting MTV's "Pimp My Ride" for six highly rated seasons, Xzibit will return as one of three new designers on the eighth season of ABC's iconic, Emmy Award-winning series, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Last season he was a "Get on the Bus" celebrity volunteer, and was so moved by the experience that he was asked to be a part of the "EM: HE" design team.
His popularity on television helped Xzibit move to the big screen, where he was seen in films such as "X-Files," "Derailed," "Bad Lieutenant" and "Gridiron Gang." His last album was "Full Circle," which was released in October 2006. He currently has a digital 45 single now available on iTunes, "Phenom/Hurt Locker."
