MTV ANNOUNCES NEW ADDITION TO "JERSEY SHORE"
#1 ORIGINAL CABLE SERIES AMONG P12-34 INTRODUCES DEENA NICOLE CORTESE
BEVERLY HILLS, CA (August 6, 2010) - MTV today announced that New Jersey native Deena Nicole Cortese has joined hit series "Jersey Shore." Cortese, who describes herself as "class in a glass and party in a body," is a long time friend of Snooki and will appear in the series currently in production in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
The breakout series delivered a record-breaking second season premiere with a 5.1 P12-34 rating and 5.3 million total viewers on Thursday, July 29. Following the success of season one, the eight housemates escaped the cold Northeast and brought the Jersey Shore heat to Miami. The area code may have changed, but the drama remains the same as these over-the-top personalities juggle work, love, friendship and of course, "GTL."
"Jersey Shore" is the #1 original cable series among P12-34 for 2010. The series posted phenomenal growth during season one and returned for season 2 (premiere 7/29/10) even stronger. Averaging a 5.1 P12-34 rating, The "Jersey Shore" season 2 premiere broke series records, is up nearly 300% from its season one premiere and is the #1 cable telecast of the year.
