Janeane Garofalo and Russ Tamblyn Guest Star in IFC's Original Comedy Series, ''The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret''

Original Series Music Composed and Performed by Johnny Marr of "The Smiths"

New York, NY - August 2, 2010 - IFC announced today that actors Janeane Garofalo and Russ Tamblyn will guest star in the network's highly anticipated original comedy series, "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret," which will also feature all new, exclusive original music composed and performed by musician Johnny Marr of "The Smiths." The six-episode series premieres on IFC on Friday, October 1 at 10 pm, et/pt, and airs on subsequent Friday nights.

"We're thrilled that Janeane, Russ and Johnny are attached to this series," said Debbie DeMontreux, senior vice president of original programming for IFC. "Janeane and Russ are great actors and bring a level of hilarity to their characters that provides amusing and unexpected twists to the show. And, the original music Johnny has created adds a fun backdrop to the over-the-top antics and situations throughout the series."

Created, written by, and starring David Cross ("Arrested Development"), "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" follows the awkward misadventures of an American office temp and convenient liar named Todd Margaret (Cross). Margaret bluffs his way into a senior sales position heading up the London office for the new energy drink Thunder Muscle.

Cross' out-of-control farce reaches epic proportions when his character's gaffes and misfortunes wreak havoc on the city of London. His antics are often fueled by Dave (Blake Harrison, "The Inbetweeners"), his mysteriously devious and sometimes useless assistant. Complicating matters is Todd's misplaced attempts to win the affection of Alice (Sharon Horgan, "Pulling"), his uninterested UK love interest. The series also features guest stars Will Arnett ("Arrested Development") as Todd's hard-ass, foul-mouthed boss, Brent Wilts, and Amber Tamblyn ("The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants") as Todd's American "girlfriend."

Actress Janeane Garofalo, known for her roles in "Reality Bites," "The Truth About Cats & Dogs" and "Clay Pigeons," will star as Ms. Turgid, Brent Wilts' overbearing boss. Russ Tamblyn guest stars as a "close relative" of Todd Margaret's.

Adding to the show's originality, new music has been composed and performed by guitarist Johnny Marr, including the show's theme song, "Life is Sweet." Marr is best known for launching the band, "The Smiths" at just 18 years old. He later went on to play with "The Pretenders," "The The," "Electronic," "Modest Mouse" and "The Cribs." Most recently, Marr is featured on the Hans Zimmer composed soundtrack for the film "Inception," starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

"The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" is a co-production between IFC and RDF Television, part of the RDF Media Group, co-written by Shaun Pye ("Extras") and executive produced by RDF TV's Head of Comedy, Clelia Mountford. Executive producers for IFC are Debbie DeMontreux, Jennifer Caserta, Evan Shapiro, Dan Pasternack and Christian Vesper.
