BILL ROMANOWSKI TO GUEST STAR ON SPIKE'S "BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE"
Season 2 Of Spike's Scripted Comedy Series Premieres This October
New York, NY, June 28 2010 - NFL veteran Bill Romanowski has filmed a guest appearance for Season 2 of Spike TV's scripted comedy series "Blue Mountain State" which will premiere this October.
Season two of "Blue Mountain State finds Coach Marty Daniels (Former NFL-er Ed Marinaro) under pressure to deliver a winning season after an embarrassing showing last year that almost ruined his legacy and put his five national college football titles into question. Desperate to change the team's fortunes, Coach Daniels brings in Romanowski, starring as himself, to instruct the team in the ways of unnecessary roughness.
During his 16-year NFL career, Bill Romanowski played for theSan Francisco 49ers (1988-1993), Philadelphia Eagles (1994-1995), Denver Broncos (1996-2001), and Oakland Raiders (2002-2003). He played 243 consecutive games, an NFL record among linebackers, won 4 Super Bowl Championships, and is the only linebacker to start 5 Super Bowl Games. He is one of only three players in NFL history to win back to back Super Bowls with two different organizations (San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos). During his 16 year career, Romanowski compiled 1,105 tackles, 39.5 sacks, 18 forced fumbles, and 18 interceptions, which he returned for a net total of 98 yards and 1 career touchdown. Romanowski was a Pro Bowl selection twice, in 1996 and 1998, both during his tenure with the Denver Broncos.
Spike's half-hour scripted comedy series "Blue Mountain State" surrounds the on and off-field antics of the fictional college football powerhouse Blue Mountain State. In addition to Coach Daniels (Marinaro), the BMS Goats are led on the field by overzealous team captain Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson) and top recruit Radon Randell (Page Kennedy) whose talent is matched only by his outrageous behavior and huge ego. Off the field, the team is led by Alex Moran (Darin Brooks), the second string quarterback who is content riding the bench, and his best friend and team mascot Sammy Cacciatore (Romanski). Sammy's troubles will also multiply this season when his wild, crazy and sexy party-girl sister Mary Jo (Frankie Shaw), transfers to BMS.
The debut season of "Blue Mountain State" was seen by more than 40 million people in the United States. On Spike.com, show-related videos generated over 3.5 million video views during the course of the season. "Blue Mountain State" is also seen in 30 countries around the world.
