By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

COVERT AFFAIRS (USA) - Gregory Itzin ("24") is set to recur on the freshman drama, about the romantic and espionage foibles of a new CIA agent (Piper Perabo). He'll play Henry Wilcox, "the distinguished former Director of Clandestine Services and the father of Sendhil Ramamurthy's character, Jai." It's not clear when his first episode will air. The series launches Tuesday, July 13.

THE INBETWEENERS (MTV, New!) - The cable channel is the latest to take a stab at importing the U.K. series, about four high school boys who belong to the "inbetweeners" social class - teens who are not the most cool and popular but not geeky enough to be branded uncool. Aaron Kaplan, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are all behind the new incarnation, which has a pilot commitment form the network. Morris and Beesley previously booked an adaptation at ABC back in 2008 which ultimately didn't move forward. Kaplan's Kapital Entertainment and former Comedy Central executive Lauren Corrao are also producing.

TILDA (HBO) - Wes Bentley, David Harbour and Leland Orser are the latest additions to the comedy pilot, about Tilda Watski (Diane Keaton), a powerful female online Hollywood journalist with a no-holds-barred style. Bentley will play Tilda's cute young IT guy and part-time paramour with Harbour as "an old school entertainment columnist working for a major publication who harbors bitterness towards Tilda's means of going about her job." And finally, Orser is set to recur as a movie studio head who is being exposed by Tilda. Ellen Page also stars in the half-hour, which comes from co-creators Condon and Cynthia Mort. Production begins next month in Los Angeles.

UNTITLED CHRISTOPHER TITUS PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Christopher Titus is back in business with the network with a new comedy also loosely based on his life. Titus once again star as a version of himself, a comedian dealing with his great new girlfriend and her solid family as well as his crazy ex-wife. Michael Glouberman is co-writing the half-hour alongside Titus with Warren Littlefield also executive producing for 20th Century Fox Television.
