By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

BIG LAKE (A.K.A. UNTITLED JON HEDER PROJECT) (Comedy Central) - Upright Citizens Brigade regular Chris Gethard has been tapped for the lead role on the upcoming comedy, about "a young man who won't let anything get in the way of his big dreams, even if it means losing his job and having to move back in with his parents and sleep on their couch." He'll replace Jon Heder, who was originally attached in said role but dropped out last month over creative differences. Production on the project, which comes from Debmar-Mercury and Gary Sanchez Productions, is set to begin next week. Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz also star in the half-hour, which is being run by Lew Morton.

MISS/GUIDED (ABC) - Caroline Williams, the creator of the short-lived comedy, has inked a blind two-script deal with Warner Bros. Television. The pact, valued in the mid-six-figure range, calls for her to pen two potential projects for the studio - one of which with the studio-based J.J. Abrams's Bad Robot banner. No details about the half-hour were given other than it is a single-camera comedy with a female protagonist. Most recently, Williams served as a consulting producer on ABC's "Modern Family."

THE PINK HOUSE (NBC) - Zach Cregger ("The Whitest Kids U'Know") is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about the friendship between two guys who take a risk and move out to Los Angeles to begin the next chapter of their post-college lives. He and co-star Michael Cassidy are believed to be playing the aforementioned buds, Rob "Bernie" Burnett and John "Fitz" Fitzgerald. Universal Media Studios is behind the half-hour, which also stars Ashley Madekwe and Katharine McPhee. Michael Lembeck is directing from a script by co-creators Kenny Schwartz and Rick Weiner.

RIDE ALONG (NBC) - Delroy Lindo ("Kidnapped") has joined the cast of the drama pilot, a police procedural set - and filmed - in Chicago. He'll play Alderman Patrick Gibbons, a "longtime building magnate turned politician [who] has ruled his ward with a velvet glove for three decades." Said character was originally written as being from Irish descent. He's further detailed as follows: "His constituents love him, but there have always been loud whispers and knowing glances that on the edges of his financial empire are the classic markings of organized crime. Gibbons would have been mayor years ago, but it would have been a step down for him. Jarek (Jason Clarke) and Teresa (Jennifer Beals) are convinced he's dirty at his core and when they tie a murder in the pilot episode to Gibbons' empire, they become determined that now is the time to finally bring Gibbons to justice." Billy Lush, Devin Kelley, Matt Lauria and Todd Williams also star in the 20th Century Fox Television-based hour, which comes from writer Shawn Ryan and director Charles McDougall.
