NEW YORK, Feb. 11 -- MTV will provide lights, cameras and plenty of Hollywood action as the network today announced that the 2010 "MTV Movie Awards" and "MTV Video Music Awards" will both air LIVE from Los Angeles this year. As the best and brightest in film and music descend upon Los Angeles, the city will become hotter in more ways than one as MTV delivers more of the unpredictable, one-night-only moments and performances viewers can't wait to see each year. The 19th annual "MTV Movie Awards" will air LIVE on Sunday, June 6th from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California and the 27th annual "MTV Video Music Awards" will air LIVE Sunday, September 12th from Los Angeles, CA (venue TBA).

"The 'Movie Awards' and the 'VMA's consistently deliver some of the most talked about moments on TV. Making Los Angeles this year's location for both shows gives us the perfect hotbed to create the eclectic mix of artists, stars and commotion which embody MTV events," said Stephen Friedman, General Manager for MTV. "The success of last year's shows ups the ante on the star power, music and movie madness viewers expect to see and they won't be disappointed."

Emmy Award winner Mark Burnett returns for the fourth year in a row to executive produce the 2010 "MTV Movie Awards," where movie megastars will vie for the golden popcorn in award categories as only MTV could create them including "Best Kiss," "Best Fight" and "Best Comedic Performance." For the second time in "Movie Awards" history, the final 2010 nominees in addition to the winners, will be decided by the MTV fans.

One of the driving forces behind reality television and a true visionary, Mark Burnett has enjoyed a long history of executive producing Emmy Award-winning television.
