DISCOVERY CHANNEL'S WORLD PREMIERE ORIGINAL SERIES 'WORST CASE SCENARIO' GIVES VIEWERS URBAN SURVIVAL SKILLS TO USE IN EVERYDAY LIFE
- Bear Grylls Second Act For Discovery Provides Tips Everyone Can Use -
Imagine a moment when the unthinkable happens. An elevator ride... a drive to work... a walk in the park... when disaster strikes. Most crises arise close to home, in everyday life. You never know when a simple task could turn deadly. Knowing exactly what to do in these situations could be the difference between life and death.
Heart-pounding and informative, the world six-part series WORST CASE SCENARIO premieres this spring on Discovery Channel. Survival expert and MAN VS. WILD host Bear Grylls puts himself into potentially life-threatening situations to show the how-to, hands-on, step-by-step instructions on everything you may need to know when faced with a worst case scenario. In each hour-long episode, Grylls teaches viewers the skills needed to succeed in urban survival situations that could arise without warning, from escaping a high-rise apartment fire to fending off a shark attack to escaping out of a sinking car.
"Bear Grylls demonstrates resourcefulness in the face of adversity," said Clark Bunting, president and general manager of Discovery Channel and president of Science Channel. "Grylls teaches the audience at home that you don't have to be a Navy Seal or a stuntman to survive these intense situations - you just have to be prepared, use basic common sense, and learn how to not panic."
Relying solely on advice and instruction from experts, Grylls escapes a multitude of deadly circumstances, proving that anyone equipped with the right knowledge can survive even in the worst of scenarios. Other dire situations featured on the show include how to get yourself out of a frozen lake, what to do if your breaks give out while driving down a hill, how to prevent a mountain lion attack and how to fall down a flight of stairs unharmed.
WORST CASE SCENARIO is produced for Discovery Channel by Pilgrim Films & Television. Craig Piligian and Eddie Barbini are co-executive producers for Pilgrim Films & Television and Josh Berkley is executive producer for Discovery Channel.
