NBC UNIVERSAL RENEWS DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH BERMANBRAUN FOR THREE MORE YEARS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 11, 2009 -- NBC Universal has renewed its creative relationship with BermanBraun ("Mercy") for another three years, it was announced today by Jeff Gaspin, Chairman, NBC Universal Television Entertainment, and Angela Bromstad, President, Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.

BermanBraun will continue to operate as a separate label within NBC Universal, developing a broad range of scripted and unscripted projects on a first-look basis for all of the company's television divisions.

"Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun are one of the best producing teams in the business with a truly impressive track record," said Gaspin. "We are very pleased to continue working with them on developing great content for NBC Universal."

Bromstad added: "It's been a great partnership with Gail and Lloyd. They are a rare team of true producers and executives who understand what it takes to make great programming."

Among other productions, BermanBraun is the producer of "Mercy" (Wednesdays, 8-9 p.m. ET), NBC's freshman drama series, which was recently given a full-season pickup order. BermanBraun is currently shooting the NBC drama pilot "Rex Is not Your Lawyer," starring David Tennant, Jeffrey Tambor and Jane Curtain. The drama pilot "Alphas," written by Zak Penn, also has been green-lit by Syfy and is expected to start shooting after the new year.

Berman previously was President, Paramount Pictures, until she left to co-found BermanBraun with Braun in 2007. At Paramount, Berman shepherded such feature films as "Star Trek, " "Failure to Launch," "Nacho Libre," and "World Trade Center." Prior to joining the studio, she spent five years as Entertainment President at Fox Broadcasting, where she oversaw she development and launch of the hit "American Idol," "House," "24," "The O.C." and other series. In addition, Berman developed the Fox comedy "Malcolm in the Middle" while at Regency Television, and was crucial in the launch of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" for Sandollar Productions.

Braun founded the Yahoo! Media Group after joining the company in November 2004. He re-structured the creative and business elements of Yahoo!'s original media properties during his tenure there. Earlier, Braun was Chairman, ABC Entertainment Television Group, where he oversaw the ABC network and Touchstone Television studio. In 2004, Braun was the primary creative force behind the development of "Lost," the hit Emmy Award-winning drama, and also developed "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives," "Alias" and "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" during his tenure at ABC. Prior to ABC, Braun was President of Brillstein-Grey Entertainment, during which time he oversaw the development of "NewsRadio," "Just Shoot Me" and "The Sopranos."
