Networks Set Obama Plans for December 1
By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC are all set to carry President Obama's address to the nation on Tuesday, December 1 at 8:00/7:00c.

The planned 30-minute speech will be carried live by all four networks with the following addendums to their previously announced schedules:

-- [UPDATED!] ABC will pre-empt "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "Disney's Prep & Landing" at 8:00/7:00c and 8:30/7:30c, respectively, in favor of a full hour of news coverage. Both half-hour specials will instead air the following week (December 8) at the same times. "Scrubs" and "The Forgotten" will air as normal.

-- CBS will bump its repeat of "NCIS" to 8:30/7:30c to be followed by a special Tuesday repeat of "Two and a Half Men" at 9:30/8:30c ("David Copperfield Slipped Me a Roofie") and the previously announced "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" coverage at 10:00/9:00c.

-- NBC on the other hand will carry a full hour of news coverage at 8:00/7:00c, pushing its usual two-hour "The Biggest Loser" to 9:00/8:00c. The move will pre-empt "The Jay Leno Show" at 10:00/9:00c, the show's first bump since its launch.

-- [UPDATED!] And finally, FOX has slated a half-hour of news coverage for 8:00/7:00c with "So You Think You Can Dance" following in its entirety at 8:30/7:30c. The news marks FOX's first Obama coverage since his March 24 address. The network previously opted not to air Obama's speeches on September 9, July 22 and April 29.
