THE STYLE NETWORK ANNOUNCES A UNIQUE NEW MAKEOVER SERIES THAT HELPS REAL WOMEN TACKLE THE 10 THINGS THEY DISLIKE MOST ABOUT THEMSELVES

"What I Hate About Me" Offers Brutally Honest Expert Advice and Practical Tips to Help Women Who Are Trying to Gain Confidence and Improve Their Lives

Los Angeles, Oct. 23, 2009 The Style Network announced today the new series "What I Hate About Me," which presents a whole new approach to makeovers by counting down every woman's most secret confessions. Each unpredictable and candid episode centers on one woman who sometimes reluctantly reveals the top 10 things she "can't stand" about herself. From how she flirts, argues or dresses, to the way she deals with her family, roommate or boss, each woman will face hard truths and no topic will be off-limits. Along the way, viewers will connect with the universally shared dilemmas and be shocked by some of the unusual and often humorous admissions. The series is hosted by actress and "Clean House" regular Lisa Arch who joins a variety of notable experts to help tackle these issues one by one. The hour-long series "What I Hate About Me" premieres Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 9:00pm et/pt, on The Style Network.

"'What I Hate About Me' is different from so many other makeover showsit's edgy, heartwarming, funny and informative all at the same time," said Salaam Coleman Smith, President, The Style Network. "We hope this series inspires our viewers and gives them the confidence to overcome obstacles and insecurities in their own lives. And let's be honest, it's fascinating and comforting to find out all the crazy things that other people obsess over and stress about."

With a strong desire to solve personal challenges once and for all, each episode focuses on one confessor who counts down a private list of things she would most like to change about herself. Her range of problems can be common, such as how she struggles to put together an outfit, why she is unwilling to take chances and why she can't cook a good meal. They can also be extremely private, including why she is jealous of her friends, why she hates the shape of her body and why she and her husband are rarely intimate. In each revelation, no subject goes unexplored or is too sensitive as women bare their souls to cover topics centered on love, health, home, fashion, dieting, fitness, career and friendship.

After each confession, host Lisa Arch is joined by a specialized expert and the pair work together to present the participant with an easy solution in a thoughtful, constructive and completely candid way. Through a series of cutting edge technologies, hands-on activities, helpful demonstrations, words of encouragement, plenty of laughs and perhaps some tears, each candidate is given the tools she needs to make positive changes, build confidence and knock each item off her list.

The diverse team of experts featured in the series includes psychologists, comedians, stylists, athletes, financial experts, life coaches and beauticians. Well-known contributors are boxer, motivational speaker and Muhammad Ali's daughter Laila Ali, actors and comedians Paul Rogan and Loni Love, radio host Emily Morse, skincare specialists Dr. Murad, Dr. Obagi and Kate Somerville, hair stylists Edward Tricomi and Elgin Charles, interior designers Kenneth Brown and Kahi Lee and nutritionist Rachel Beller. In addition, Style's very own fashion and beauty experts will appear on the show, including Danielle Fishel ("The Dish"), Peter Ishkhans ("Peter Perfect") and Jeannie Mai ("How Do I Look?").

Lisa Arch has established herself as a talented and witty actress appearing in a number of popular television programs, including roles on Fox's MADtv and co-hosting TBS's "Dinner and a Movie." More recently, she has appeared as a recurring character on Disney Channel's "Cory in the House," and has frequently guest hosted on Style's popular series "Clean House."

"What I Hate About Me" was developed by Triage for The Style Network. Stu Schreiberg and Gene Pack are executive producers for the series, joined by Style executive producers Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung.
